I've seen actual 50-100yr old glass bottles at my local antique shops ... I bet I could find one of those to do this too! I love using found materials and "real" things. Your emergency squirrel turned out great!

It'd be fun to maybe mold and cast a bunch of these bottles in a thin delicate resin so you can in fact smash it when you want the card, but keep the original for "cool prop on display" purposes

That's a great idea. You can even get sugar glass kits from Smooth-On that are designed for exactly that.

Nice! Spray adhesive is one of my favorite tools, but you have to remember to flip it and spray til the tip clears, lol. Scrape your tip (don't put a pin in it) and wipe it with some super strong alcohol.

If I may for future reference when you go to print your card if you need to bend it print them in the other direction. All paper has a green direction and almost all paper you buy in the store it's got long grain meaning it runs the length of the paper and the paper will more naturally Bend and fold with the grain then against it. If you take a piece of paper and bend it in one direction it'll nicely fold increase but if you bend it in the other direction it will actually become jagged as it tears the fibers. Finish instance where you want a to curl the paper and put it in somewhere small it would better curl if they were printed in the other direction cuz you're not trying to break the fibers to round it. Hope that makes sense

I bought that exact same mica powder. Be careful when you open it! I don’t know if yours will do the same thing, but mine wanted to explode. And I was extra careful trying to open it. Very very messy! Great prop by the way. I love building stuff like that and putting it around the house.

Not the most intricate prop but you nailed it. I looked back at the beginning of the video to check- you should have showed your prop against the game image with pride. Related; often old glass gets an iridescent sheen. Any idea how to replicate that effect? I thought about transparent colored paints intended for modeling but that only gives one color and they don't mix well.

Thanks for this!. The mogpog is a good idea. Having tried to age a Bloodborne blood vial prop, I know glass can be a pain. Did the glue leave a lil texture? Added bonus of a better grip to the weathering 😂

Oh yeah, it definitely left a texture and if you added several more layers you get even more of that texture.
