The old David Browns are hard to beat for the money, tough old tractors. That would be better known as a 1212 David Brown with the Hydrashift. You'll want to make sure you drop back to 1 on the powershift whenever you press the clutch, that is how they are meant to be run, I think 2nd you can get away with but going right into 3rd or 4th is hard on them. That transmission isn't as good for loader work as the synchromesh was but it's still usable. Case's parent compant Tenneco bought David Brown around 1972, that's when they changed from the brown/white colour scheme to the power red (orange) and white Case colours. They were sold right through the 1970's in Case colours and with Case decals here in Canada and the US. Parts for them are easier had over in the UK, I usually buy over there and have them shipped over, the Case dealers now don't seem to stock much for them anymore. Guessing you are probably in AB or SK judging by the Du-all loader on it and the fact you have snow and cold already LOL Westlock tractor does seem to have quite a few used parts for them, you can probably guess where they are located, lol. Good luck with er.

Thanks for the comment! Lots of good information there you gave me. You are the second person now that has told me that this is a 1212, the other guy said they are 1212s sold as 1210s? If that’s right why did they do that? Just curious. I’m down in southern AB. Thanks again!

@jactor7274 early on we would have had both 1210 and 1212 but Case decided it was too complicated for us in North america, so they just called them all 1210. It was the same way with the 996, all 995 here, and the 1412/1410. I bet if you looked at the data plate for it it would say the model is a 1212.

A snow blade would be great on this, Not even sure if you could get one for a tractor, perhaps make one

Yes that’s a good idea I have thought about that. I do have a 3 point blade that I could also use along side the loader on this tractor
