My grandparents have a farm where deer do lots of damage. It’s weird but the deer don’t really care about tractors. You would think noise would scare them but they just get used to it, see that tractors don’t move fast, and ignore them. And it’s only illegal in that (unnamed) state to hunt from moving vehicles. It’s not illegal to, say, use the roof as a shooting position. And tractors aren’t considered ‘vehicles’. The concern is people jumping out of cars/UTVs with loaded guns and shooting themselves/buddies; Not using a tractor as a vantage point or blind. Will depends on your local game warden, but I’ve talked to the one at my grandparents, and that’s basically what he explained to me. Oh- and of course, don’t have your gun loaded when you’re actually moving in the tractor.
@nicholas84765 жыл бұрын
Seth Pettis You can’t be moving and shooting, have fun loaded while moving, but a tractor usually isn’t considered a “vehicle”. If you’re just using it as a vantage point or a blind, only a real stickler game warden is gonna have an issue. Most give farmers a bit of leeway..

You need to make brush piles. Brush piles are good for several reasons. It gives rabbits, quail, and other small critters, shelter from the elements and predators. You can get raspberry bushes to grow up around them for deer and other animals to forage on. In the winter time, if the pile is dense enough, critters can use them for safe havens from yotes, bobcats, and other predators. Plus raspberries make great jams, jellies, and desserts. Now when you start making trails through the woods, remember that deer will normally take the path of least resistance as long as it's going in the direction they want to go. You can actually make "funnels", to guide deer into your shooting lane. Try to keep the canopy,(tree tops), covering the path(s) when you're clearing the underbrush. Oh, and deer are used to using the same trails because as they walk, they leave scent on the ground in the soil. That's how they find their way in the dark. They sniff the ground to make sure they're on the right trail. Some of these "natural" trails are ones that have been used for generations. Deer are creatures of habit. If you find some natural raspberry or blackberry bushes growing, try transplanting a piece of that bush along the trail(s) you make. It could take a few years, but the results will be amazing.

You will need a box blade to attach to your 3038R tractor so you can level out the your driveway and you need a easy hitch attachment to make hooking up your attachments easier as well. The equipment you already is enough to do some work around your farm and that tractor have plenty of power to do almost any work around your place, but the box blade and bush hog is the two attachments most people get. The blade you got is good enough for grading with though, but the dealer should have told you about what you should get first with your tractor though.
