Not Baseball but, Arnold Palmer always signed legible autographs during his whole career. He hated the "scribblers" Also, in 1959 we didn't know what a rookie card was. Everyone, of course, wanted #10 Mickey Mantle but we actually used the Bob Gibson rookie card in our bike spokes. After all it was an unknown player and a PINK card at that. (Good Grief)

Jabs, most of those guys don't write out their full name in their actual signature. The facsimile autos appear how they were on their original topps rookie contract so all of them are how they were then. More often than not player do a higher effort signature when they are only signing a contract
