That still seems like a lot for a salvage vehicle. I get the low miles, but all it took to get it rebuilt makes it not seem worth it to me. I got my 2015 used in very good condition for less than what you have invested. Sure, it had about 50,000 miles, but it was in very good condition and hasn't needed any work in the last 25,000 miles except for regular maintenance. Love your channel and that you show us how to do maintenance ourselves. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the feedback. Was your 2015 one yr old when you got it ? The milage and year are everything. I should have probably gone for something 2-3 years old, not 1 year old. All the German cars lose quite a bit of value over the first 3 years so that might have been no the smartest move on my side, plus it was pretty loaded prestige and that just bumped the price up. As far as the repair cost... you never really know how much it will cost as every little part for Audi costs hundreds of dollars. I'm happy with the car though and since I repaired it I have been just doing maintenance.

Mine was just coming up on 2.5 years old when I got it. Mine was a Premium Plus. Really cool car. My wife was quick to make it her own, LOL. It was technically for her, but still hard for me to let go after we brought it home. Some warned about the mileage, but it was in superb condition. If my research is right, it was a California lease turn in vehicle. Off topic question for you, but what is your opinion on changing the diff and transmission fluids? I've heard both sides of the argument, especially on the transmission. I'm at the point of needing it if I'm going to do it as preventative maintenance.

It is a great car indeed, just hit 40k miles. As far as transmission fluid, I would change it, it's not that expensive. I know nothing about diff fluid though to be honest

Thanks for the video, it was very informative. Can anyone purchase a salvage car at the auction at Iaai.com ? Or do you need a buyer number or dealer number? Do they sell to anyone in the general public?
@FelekPL5 жыл бұрын
There are public auctions for everyone and dealer only auctions. This was from a dealer auction where someone won it for me as I do not have dealer license
