As a former employee… these are “salvage” or sales floor damaged items from the pricing team, or fitting room. These aren’t returns so no worries on the gross factor.

Right I was gonna say them men’s tees someone opened the packs see how big or someone takes one out the pack or like them earrings someone takes one pair smh so then it goes in damaged etc with no tags and if underwear are sealed and closed it’s good idk js lol but yes resale person would do great

My very first job was working for Target in 1993. The return policy was if you had your receipt then you can return the item and exchange it, get an instore credit, or get cash based on how you paid. I worked in guest services, returns, and we had a gal who brought in her sheet set everything 3 months and exchanged it for complete new bedding. She purposely saved packaging and receipt so she could get new bedding. Target has since then changed their policies but at least you didn't buy returns from the 90s.

Most of it would get donated to Goodwill. I know the store I worked at we had a gentleman who actually repaired broken items and could be put back on the floor to be sold but at a clearance price.

Back in the day...My dad worked for the city at the dump. Dept. stores, local publishing house, and other manufacturers sent ALL their returns there. We had encyclopedia, childrens books, cowboy hats, electronics, clothing, ect. ALL perfectly usable! 😊

i used to work at target in the clothes sections! every week we'd have to scan through all the clearance and take out everything marked "salvage". the backroom team would box it all up on a big pallet, so thats probaby what you got! and thats why everything is new with tags. it was basically targets way of getting rid of things that didnt sell to make room for new stuff

As a target employee (style department specifically lol) this looks more like salvage and defects instead of return. Salvage is what happens to clothes after they get marked down to 70% off and still don’t sell (which is why you had so many repeats of stuff) and defects are things that we literally can’t sell, like if we find a package of earrings with a pair missing.

Hey there I’m a Target guest service employee! And yes a lot of the clearances items that didn’t sell, do get salvaged out. Typically with under garments we toss them out for hygiene reasons. The items we salvage, we get money back for. Most likely those clothes were salvaged hence the reason why you were able to access them off a website?? I’m not sure what the process for salvaged items is after it gets shipped out from the stores. Super cool finds tho! There are many times tho where products get returned with nothing wrong with them! So I could tell a lot of your finds are pretty good ones!!

Hey Hope! I actually work at Target. It seems like the box you purchased is what we call a “salvage” box. So, when items that have gone clearance reach their last markdown, they get taken off the sales floor and we place them in our salvage box. This would explain why you have so many multiples of the same item. They would all reach that markdown at the same time. I’ve always wondered what happens to those boxes once they were picked up! I guess now we know!! 😂😂😂

Underwear, food, baby items, used items, among others, are automatically defected out and sent to these boxes. Also, the clearance items are sent out after a certain time to make room for new items. In the case of some of the underwear, men’s tanks and jewelry, things get broken, lost, or stolen in store and have to be defected out. It’s interesting to see where it goes after we pitch it

Target Team member here. The reason so much of the stuff is new with tags is because it was removed from the floor for being out of season. Target has us send all that stuff back to the distribution centers where it is boxed up and sold off. Edit: we are not required to defect out returned underwear and as long as it’s not nasty it usually ends up back on the floor
