I have so called “massive” calves and have had good luck with the cheap aero socks staying up. Interested to see how they hold up after multiple washes. My non aero socks from Ali express discolor fairly quickly after multiple washes.

I’m on my third wash with these and going strong. I do wash all my cycling stuff on “cool” and then hang dry. No lycra in the dryer. I think that helps.

A lot of the super budget stuff on aliexpress are too good to be true, but I think these are close to on par with most of the major brands. Similar fabrics at the very least. They even stay up a little better than the rule28 in my experience. They’re maybe slightly less compressive than the ones I have from Classic.

​@JonathanCrain so I used these socks for the 108 mile unbound and they held up with no slippage. Hard to get the top of sock to lay flat since it sticks to itself. Other then that, highly recommend .

What size roadsuit is that? Looks like you could size down up top, but then the legs would be way too short. Skinny people problems.

Small. We’re working with the manufacturer to do an extra small in the future. Luckily my wife sews, so I’ll have her take in the sleeves a good bit.

I think the margins are so small there that I’d have no way of knowing. If margins between aero sock and non aero sock are maybe 10w, the difference between individual aero socks is even smaller. While it does make a difference on the road in terms of seconds, I don’t have a controlled enough environment to quantify it like a wind tunnel or an indoor velodrome. Anyone who gets on KZbin and tells you they can “feel” a second here or there is full of it.

The Chinese socks -- like all socks on AliExpress -- stretch out quickly. I buy 30$ Suarez socks and buy a tube of silicon gel at the hardware store (Daiso, in Korea) for 2 dollars and apply it at the top when the silicon gets weak. Well over a year-and-a-half, and they are still going. The math all adds up to the same... The Chinese socks have 2 layers of silicon tape at he top, which irritates my skin. Remember, you are dealing with the lowest common denominator when you deal with AliExpress. Another thing, I dislike the stitch on the back of the cheap China ones. But I have to admit, I never bought the Chinese socks for as low as a dollar. I think I paid 5 bux each a couple years ago. Maybe they are worth it for a buck.
