These Quadro Cards are really hidden gems if you can get them cheap. Had a Quadro K2200 in my cousins build was still holding up fine even in some modern titles

Yeah the K2200 isn’t a bad little card tbh it’s basically a overclocked 750ti with 4GB Vram 😎

I've been after the K5200 (or K6000) for awhile - mostly for the sake of making the ultimate Snow Leopard Mac build... I slowed down when I revisited 10.6.8 on Mac with a Matrix 5870 - and realized, whilst it could push the old OS, it was limited by Apple's insistence on obsoleting...

Quadros are so hit or miss. Many of them can absolutely knock your socks off with the price to Performance ratio, and some are complete lemons basically made as either display adapters or as workstation solutions. Great video!

Yeah it’s definitely a lucky dip, FirePros I’m clued up with but no so much Quadros, it did ok I think for £35 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@andystech101 yeah for $35 that's pretty solid performance, especially with the unassuming look of the card. I've been wanting to review a few quadros for a while now but the market is filled with the stinkers at the minute

We had Quadro P600s in the old computer lab computers. Great for CAD stuff, about as powerful as a 1050 in theory.

Hi, I have a question I recently git an i mac A1407 which have the thunderbolt connection I tried multiple adapters to hooked to my dell PC but no luck and when I asked my brother he said he has the P400 and gave it to me I tried connecting the i mac directly to the thunderbolt but didn't work so I tried the thunderbolt to DVI converter with a different screen and that one worked just fine, my question is a special driver for it to make it work with the i mac A 1407 or I am out of luck. It looks a be a slightly faster 750ti with 4GB vram, not great but for £20 it should able to do something 🤞🏼

@@andystech101 It should be ok, it's slightly faster than the Firepro W5100 & that managed to many games on low settings, the more demanding games it would probably target 30FPS, but can't complain for £20!

That sounds like pain! Hopefully it hasn’t cost you too much, best options for something cheapish to get you back up and running would be an RX5700XT or RX6600 I’d say personally, both can be picked up for £150ish 🙏🏼

@@Redston4D if you want to risk it with cex a rx 470 8gb is less than that. The 470 is a decent step up from the 380. (And still had official supported drivers). [If your in the uk]

@@andystech101 it was such a pain 😭 was shattered when it died was planning on keeping it till it started to struggle with games hahah. I managed to get myself a 5700XT for $230 AUD which is still a beast playing the games I want with good FPS and max settings 😁😁

Hi yes it would if it’s the mini tower. The SSF system will need a low profile GPU.

For some reason, I'm a fan of workstation cards like this one... well, maybe not so much this one, LOL... I ran a WX5100 during the pandemic GPU crisis on my gaming PC until I got a RX580 for a reasonable price (and managed to sell it before it dropped to the sub-100 tier). I sadly did kill that card I fear - one day it worked, when pulled for a different machine - it just DOAed on me. I ran it in a first generation Mac Pro running Linux with Proton for a bit - and damned if that little card plus a pair of dual 2007 Xeons couldn't push some frames. The machine definitely ran hot, even with my cRPGs and retro-geek stuff... I'm waiting for the T1000 to come down to reasonable levels (or people to forget about the WX9100...). Nice vid, Andy - and is this first time you've shown yourself outside of your hands?

Hi mate, yes I’m the same they have a certain charm, I’m not so clued up with Quadro’s admittedly this wasn’t the best example but for £35 for a new card it’s not too bad. I’ve had my fair share or FirePros and got a couple of those to test out yet. Yes it won’t get me a million views but I think you’ve got to try and be a little different!

I’ve read somewhere that this can be does support multiple codecs just needs to be unlocked, I don’t have much 4k content anyway mostly 1080p but wondering if this can do 4K too? H Andy, id rather have this than the 710/730 , the p600 is a bit better, can you not overclock these then, the older Quadros iv tested iv been able to overclock, i tend not to as some people don't know how to so my benches are usually at stock.

Hi mate no overclocking unfortunately, I think you can modify the bios to get them to run higher, some pointed out that you may be able to put a GT1010 bios on which would be fun but wouldn’t want to brick it! It will go in a Dell/HP and I’ll sell it on as a nice little office system.

It all depends on the use case really but $28 isn’t bad! For gaming there’s a lot better options. You should be able to pickup a 1050ti for near that these days.

My class has 34 of these for digital media... they suck and i would pay 40 max for it... also, 3 monitors doesnt work with it... the max is 2 and the 3rd one makes all ur screens go black.
