I had a Scirocco for years. They're great little cars and can be pretty powerful once tuned correctly. They're really nimble when driving as well, enjoy it when it's fixed.

I used to have a Scirocco and a Russian guy on the owners club put a RS3 engine in his Scirocco. I think he cut the boot floor out and replaced it with something from same platform but 4wd

can confirm you can fit a haldex rear subframe with just a "minor cut".. i.e removing the hole spare tire compartment. but after that it slips right in. also vr6 engine from a r32 mk5 fits fine, just saying ;)

EA113 TFSI fanboy here 👋🏻😅 Ur right about that Scirocco engine, it did sound over rattly. Theyre naturally 'ticky' but rattly is definitely that camshaft chain and tensioner, as you said. Cant wait to see you restore this💪🏻 Your channel is deservedly growing quickly from the quality content you're producing 👍🏻

Yes the GT had an EA888. This definitely is a CDLK EA113. Same engine as the Golf 6R, Audi S3 and TTS back then.

My friend had a Scirocco R with Haldex system aswell, He said it is "simply" cutting out the spare wheel box, re-welding it to being closed. Fit the Haldex system including axles etc. and basically thats it.

Love the video! Just a tip and you probably already know this but I’d check channel 93 of the engine module live data on VCDS to check the timing chain and tensioner health, this will tell you if you need a new timing chain or not and can save you a bit of quid. Was a life saver when I bought my 2.0 TSI Scirocco as mine was on the way out and it can happen with bad maintenance on these

the tools that are on the side are dynaudio cars, as the facelift dynaudio has a sub in the spare wheel, the pre facelift doesn't have a sub

All about the VWs 👌 , not a lot off people are a fan off the shiroco R it’s a car what is underrated it’s basically a golf R but I think they look sick don’t see much on the road something different rare and the boost gauges make it unique an more sporty then the golf R from inside 👌👌👌

@Trhamza id suggest getting the camshaft chain and tensioner done as mjne had the exact same sound to it and when it get really bad the sound gets alot louder and theres alot more rattling mine cost an arm and a leg to repair from main dealer 😅

Chassis/mounting points are the same as a mk5 r32. Would make a nice awd vr6 conversion. Just have to cut the spare wheel well out to make space for the haldex!!!

Do like the Sciroccos, just not as practical with a couple of young 'uns in the back. Looking forward to seeing this one being rebuilt and improved upon. So many options... a bit of cutting and fabrication needed if you go AWD? Prefer the Talldegas to the Cadiz, to be honest... Great stuff, Hamza!

12:00 the oil you can see looks like spillage when people are topping up the oil or servicing the vehicle and replacing the oil rocker cover looks perfect to be honest, my opinion I could be wrong

Yes the front is from top up spillage but there’s some at the back also. It will have to get replaced regardless when I do cam chain 👍🏼

4WD and a VR6T would make one hell of a car. I’ve never really been a huge fan of Roccos but the facelift in black actually looks spot on. I wouldn’t leave the CDL in it, they’re boring unless you go full frame turbo. Sell the lump for good coin and put it into making this unique!

Yeah it would be amazing to see that combo in a facelift car with all the newer bits. Gonna do some research on it. But yeah with the CDL I’m not gonna focus too much on all the stage 2+ stuff as been there before with these EA113. But we’ll see what happens

@@TRHamza Totally agree. And I’m saying that as an owner of a ~420bhp CDL. It’s quick, but bland. Maybe if you were staying 2WD a tuned TFSI would feel fun/quick, but a 4WD project needs a bit more character I reckon. 5 or 6 cylinders is a much better base, and loads more interesting for us lot to follow. I’m sure Dawud can help make it happen!
