For future rebuilds... a handy tip... If I may... When installing troublesome bearings... Put the shaft in the freezer for a couple hours... Soak a paper towel in water, wrap the bearings in the wet paper towel... and pop it in the microwave for a bit... you may have to experiment with the time... but around a minute plus or minus...YES!!! Metal in the micro wave... LOL... The micro wave heats the water in the paper towel which causes the metal in the bearing to expand... Take the shaft out of the freezer... and all most all the time the bearings will slip right on... Freezing the shaft reduces it's diameter... by thousands of an inch... and heating the bearing expands the id bore by thousands of an inch... Without any damage to the bearings or the shaft... Did a complete rebuild on a Delta joiner, and a Rigid planer using this very method!!!

another quick question is how did you remove the emblems from the machine? I am trying to paint it so want to remove all the metal emblems and then put them back on when im done.
@samferguson10913 жыл бұрын
The Emblems are just held in with little rivets. You just have to get a chisel or something underneath them and pry them out. be careful though because the emblems are soft and can pop right through. As far as the the bolts I'll take a look today and get back to you. Thanks for watching!
