I have had mine for about 2 weeks. Absolutely love it. Hair drying is faster, styles quick AND works awesome on my beard. Got nothing but high praise.

I know this comment has 7 months but did your opinion change? I've seen a lot of people saying their Laifen broke down 1/2 months after purchase. I was thinking of buying one for myself

@@_ngugi_ could you link me to these reviews please? I was also considering buying one.

Hi, just did a lil research: the swift special and the swift se do not have the ion tech. The swift and the swift premium do. 🤷🏻♀️

Just got this reply from Laifen: Laifen-EU Hi there. Thanks for reaching out. Yes, all the hair dryers we sell have negative ion technology.

nice research, the swift special is just a swift bundle with more accessories 🤣
@claudiafreudenberger464511 ай бұрын
@@est4tic- yeah, they told me the same thing. Yet only in the description of the „special“ is written „ionic tech“. 🤷🏻♀️ And they ignored my direct question about no measurable ions. Forge your own opinion about the company. I know I have. Cheers 🍀

@@claudiafreudenberger4645 Their website says the swift has a "billion-level negative ion generator to neutralise static electricity generated during the blow drying process, leaving hair shiny and smooth after drying". I tried to ask for further information on their online chat feature, and I even mentioned this video. I only got AI-generated responses, but I thought I would share them anyways: "The effectiveness of measuring negative ions can depend on the equipment and methods used by the reviewer. Some consumer-grade ion meters may not be sensitive enough to detect the levels of negative ions produced by the hair dryer. Additionally, environmental factors and the distance from the ion source can also affect the readings. [...] It's possible that the reviewer's ion meter may have varying sensitivity levels or calibration settings that could affect its ability to measure the negative ions produced by different hair dryers. Additionally, the design and technology used in the Laifen Swift hair dryer might differ from other hair dryers, potentially influencing the measurement results." I don't really know what to make of it, especially because they're AI-generated responses. One would hope they wouldn't make a claim like that if weren't true, I mean, I'm pretty sure it classifies as false advertising? I really wanted to buy the swift hairdryer before coming across this review, and now I just don't know. Edit: I emailed customer support, and will report back if I receive a response. Also, I did some cursory research using chatGTP to see if the AI assistant's responses have any truth to them, and I'll copy paste the results below. - Device Sensitivity or Calibration Issues: The ion detector might work effectively with some hair dryers but fail to register ionic output from others due to differences in the strength or distribution of the ions emitted. For example, if the Laifen Swift emits ions at a different intensity or in a more concentrated airflow, the device might not detect them properly unless positioned in the optimal location. - Variation in Ion Emission Design: Hair dryers with ionic technology might emit ions differently based on the design of their generators or airflow mechanisms. If the ion detector is calibrated for a specific range or type of emission, it could miss readings from devices that operate outside these parameters. - Environment or Usage Factors: Ionic emission can be influenced by environmental conditions (e.g., humidity, temperature) or how the device is being used during testing. Differences in how the air is directed or dispersed could affect the reading even if the dryer is functioning as intended. - Potential Unit Defect: It’s also possible that the specific Laifen Swift tested by the reviewer had a defective ion generator, leading to no measurable ionic output. Such defects could be isolated and not representative of the model as a whole. - False Positives from Other Devices: The detector may have measured ions from other hair dryers due to differences in testing conditions or positioning, which might not reliably replicate the Laifen Swift’s setup. Once again, I have no idea what to make of any of this frankly, I've never used an ion detector and have no clue how any of this works. I cannot find any other third party tests to confirm or deny their claims. Hope their customer support team can shed some light on this.

how does this compare to the zuvi halo dryer and dyson supersonic?

My hair is curly and I dry it straighting and giving some style to the ends using a brush, so I guess Laifen is not for me. Thank you for the review.

Thanks for your videos! I have curly hair and need a hair dryer that works well for diffusing. Is there one you’d recommend since you said the chi lava diffuser didn’t really slow down the air? I like that it emits the negative ions but need a diffuser that works well

That's understandable. You can still get really good dryers at a price point of around $200. Twin Turbo, Parlux and T3 are all great places to start

@@CosmoDad What was the wattage on the IG Dryer? I would LOVE to hear your thoughts and science on the wattage of dryers and why there is such a HUGE difference when you step up from 1875 watts to 2000. There is the GHD Helios that claims 75 mph speeds and the Drybar Reserve that claims 100 mph. We need this broken down by our Cosmo Dad ;)

This Dryer is only 1400 watts! Wattage and dryers is kind of a tricky subject, I should definitely do a video on this. Thank you!
