Once upon a time, I was working with this guy in China. He was often dreaming of buying a boat with the money he earned. To me it sounded like a good story. And look at him now. He won't even ever see my comment that's how loved he is. You're living your dream legend. Me and Tomaž are so happy for you! Love love love

Exactly Simon... those Pahi building plans are the Captain Cook design which were updated in the 80's and included the new deck pod intructions/plans too! It's a blank canvas and the most expensive and time consuming phase of these 'alternative' self-build ocean wanderers has very clearly been done... and well according to Hanneke... the co-designer of those plans no less! Just a 'bit of 'elbow grease' proved that! Will the damp/rot be worse than hoped for? Probably... yet there is nothing more budget friendly or easier to restore than a clapped out old Wharram! This was exactly the cat that Mark was looking for... quite a few other people out there too I would imagine for less than £1800! It's like buying the most comprehensive set of ocean going catamaran building plans ever... and then getting a free catamaran with 2 reasonable engines(+) thrown in! The big mistake would not be buying it! Good comment!👍

There's a raft of difference between haters and people who don't want to see the guy end up with a futile money pit which could drive him insane... perhaps because they have made similar mistakes and while yes you learn from them... sometimes listening to people is a good plan. Congratulations Mark. We are confident you will realise your vision with the restoration and completion of your new project. As you say, you have salvaged something in a dire condition that will surely give you, your family and friends much pride as you progress with the build. Keep positive and me and my 2 yr old daughter will follow your progress with an equal measure of enthusiasm and optimism. Just don’t cut any corners and please try your best to be as meticulous and thorough as your new boat (and future self sailing mid-Atlantic) deserves. All the best.

I can’t honestly see the attraction of a boat like this Mark, but all power to your elbow. I’ve watched from your first trip from Wales and look forward to watching you smash this project as you did with Minkey Good luck. 👍😊

After last week's vlog I was scared and thought you and the cat. would be stuck in the mud forever. This week it's reassuring to see how you have come along already, even though the boat is literally stuck in the mud...!! 🤣🤣🤣 Your channel will work, Mark. I worked for a Dutch company for most of my career and was often in NL. It's a great part of the world, you are going to get a lot of wind and rain though... 😊

Congratulations on an epic first week, yes a big project but I have faith in you! It's all about the baby steps. Slow and steady wins the race!

The people that can't see the potential of an object are some of my favorite folks. Because they pass up anything that's dirty or needs repair it increases my chances of finding a hidden gem. Over the years I have bought cars, houses, sawmills and boats that everyone passed on because of the work involved to resurrect them. Like yourself I was not afraid to roll up my sleeves and dive in. I have never regretted a moment of it. Soon you will be able to stand back and look at what you achieved and all that hard work will fade into memory.

It's not a boat I would chose but you've made it clear that this is your dreamboat. Certainly you've assessed the risk and determined what an acceptable outcome would look like if you run into problems. I hope you over come any that you find and I hope you are sailing around the world sooner than later! :) Good luck!
