hi, fotr cutting the styrofoam you need a good battery, (accu) - or brtter the power suppply wit the current regulation (u can borrow it) a thin copper wire and fixture which will hold the wire tensioned and straigd and which will give you desired thickness. This is the BEST way to cut it - using the hot wire.

For the dingy I would set up a set of lifting slings under the deck between the hulls. Hope this idea helps and looking forward to what you do next.

Could you possibly just rig it up with two ratchet straps? Keep it simple

Can you say something on how you are navigating the schengen issue - you seem to spend well over the alloted 90/180? Advice would be well received by many, I'm sure.

The best and cleanest way of cutting foam board is with high resistance wire, its really cheap and you can make all sorts of jigs to use it.

can you not make a small davit on the rear to hoist up your dinghy? Can be made out of wood or steel tubing. But my concern is the outbaord might be too close?

You need some davits on the stern. I have some and it's stainless steel tubing about 25 mil tubing. I reckon your dad could knock you some up as he's such an expert welder. I'll send you a photo when I next get to my boat. Glad to see you're back on the boat

Mate, a cabin would be awesome in fibreglass. Go all out and have a walk on roof aswell. I reckon it will be a game changer. And add some extra strength.

Fungi in timber requires the timber to have a minimum moisture content of 16%. Below this NO fungi can grow. That's why timber in builders merchants is dried to around 12%. Keep dehumidifying until the timber is below 16%.....and a well ventilated and used boat will hold below 16%. In the rainy humid tropics it may reappear...

👍👌👏 Well done, both of you. 2) I loved to see how much you enjoyed the cup of tea on your boat. With those two colours on her, Mahi looks simply great. 3) You may find it helpful to see how the friendly couple on Supernova dealt with lifting the dinghy out of the water. By the way: Please always put a safety line on the outboard when mounting it to the dinghy. The couple on Yaba already lost one engine because it wasn't secured and fell into the deep sea. As always: Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health in particular. To all of you of course.

Whew, that is a lot of engines. The boat is looking very promising! I do find the engine work deadly boring to watch, luckily KZbin has the skip function. Gas engines are like wearing an anchor around our neck. You all should check out the Sailing Uma channel build, they are doing some very cool things with electric motors, very fun to watch. EDIT: Nice bike!!!

If that foam board is the same as FOAMULAR NGX F-250 Unfaced Polystyrene Board Insulation, it makes a good core for a fiberglass sandwich. I've built lots of things with it. I'll be building a hard dodger for my Pearson Triton 28 with it. Just dont let the epoxy get too hot.

Food for thought have you thought about making a outboard work station in the other hull? Maybe with a winch top side to lower it in place, just for crappy weather project days.

what about a flat strap fore and aft. i don't have any idea about how you would easily manuerver it around the hulls but from what little i saw it would bring the actual lifting point closer to the hull itself? glas you are back and the mighty yamahas are all three ready for the challenge.

G'day Mark, Cool vid . Pleased to hear your making a cockpit / dodger, consider plastic or fibreglass & perspex sheet , it can be riveted / bolted to a light frame (dad could weld it up) & roof can catch rain if has a gutter . Outside can be lined with solar cells. Look forward to next episode . Respect....!

Awesome Mark! Really nice that you are back at Mahi. Looking forward to see you head south! I think I said it before, that dinghy you have with 15 HP (9.9 showing) is a little screamer, I'm sure. But really beware of the dutch water police, if they stop you with that sweet fast little rig they can fine you, because it's faster then 20 km/h and you would need a registration and a "vaarbewijs" Not having both could set you back the amount of 2 of those West system epoxy sets.. would be a waste of money. Either you should disguise it as a 4 HP engine which would be difficult. Or maybe have a 4 hp engine in the mean time, that you can run without any licence...
@jeroenimo99
@jeroenimo99 9 сағат бұрын
Ouch.. it's even more! 550 euro for not having a vaarbewijs, and 130 euro for not having registered the dinghy...

That salt build up is all through your motor and is likely the reason it’s not pumping properly. That grease on the impeller is not good for the rubber impeller it will eat it causing it to fail. Try to flush your motor with fresh water in a drum with some salt wash or detergent if you’re not going to use it for a while. Loving your videos you’ve come a long way. 👍🇦🇺
