I've always wondered, what do the lower case letters in the tuning mean?
@strangersinbedband99863 жыл бұрын
@@benjaminfowler4513 because there is already a letter C and E in the tuning, lower letters are used to show its an octave higher, not the same pitch. Thats why standard tuning is EADGBe

But why would Ibanez discontinue the Talman outside of Japan instead of just simplifying the range? Such great guitars.

It's even more strange when you consider that they have a talman bass line.

@@donttalktome4696 yeah that baffled me. The shape seems so odd for bass compared to guitar
@GOREMAXXX3 жыл бұрын
@@donttalktome4696 Acoustic talman line too, but the electric ones are a no go outside of Japan apparently. I'm sure if Ibanez was smart, they would bring them back in some form, seeing as they are pretty popular and there is demand for them.
@DownWithTheCygnus3 жыл бұрын
@@GOREMAXXX they brought them back in the form of the new Ibanez Q series, the pickups have a little bit more highs and lows but otherwise the same. I recommend this vid: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3bXZICtrtSra6c
@newdirge96013 жыл бұрын
@@DownWithTheCygnus I think Ichika only meant his Q signature reminded him of his ivory SSS Talman. The Q guitars are based on the shape of the S series, and all the pickups are newly custom built. Otherwise, they are a completely new idea for Ibanez. I disagree they'd fill in for a vintage-style series like the Talman, that is as chunky and heavy as a Tele.

I have an older Talman with Tele-style pickups and it's the best guitar I've ever owned. I've been craving one of these since the day they were announced and you're making it harder for me to resist...
@hodge89473 жыл бұрын
I managed to pick one up in white for £120 on FB marketplace, I really like how it sounds.. but the strings are falling off the neck (you basically can't use frets 1-3 on either e because the frets are so filed down) the intonation is horrendous and it has flat spots and sharp frets.. meaning to take it into a shop but scared it will cost more to put right than I paid for it. Did you get much done to yours? or did I just get unlucky?
@jakejohannsen68453 жыл бұрын
@@hodge8947 I'm happy to say mine was perfect out of the box, but it cost more than double what you paid. I'm guessing you just got one that's seen heavy use and needs a re-fret and set-up. It'll likely cost as much as you think, but in the end you'll end up with a good playing instrument. And the value of even the low-end Talmans has been creeping up, so the work would be worth it IMO
@hodge89473 жыл бұрын
@@jakejohannsen6845 Thanks so much for the reply! The frets have just been filed wrongly unfortunately, it hasn't had much use, but like you say at the price I paid I can hardly begin to moan! It's a second guitar currently as I play my PRS most of the time, but now I'm thinking about recording I'd love to have the Talman as an option.. may have to get it down the shop... I did consider just changing the neck for a tele neck (probs cheaper than a refet) but I don't want to lose the talman headstock!

Pretty hard man Yvette too used ac30 sound.
@noyd41723 жыл бұрын
Having that AC30 or AC10 platform is so important to her tone, and she's also used Oranges and maybe Fenders in the past, so in modeling those amps that's a versatile selection that all still centers around maximum twinkle. I'd also love to see what they do with the Warden compressor, boost, and chorus models (I'm thinking a hi-fi and lo-fi mode for the chorus) they would invariably need to complete the sound, even outside the delicious reverb textures and the analog delays that populate her sound. This would actually end up looking like the new Tim Henson Archetype and that is not a bad thing.

I have an older Talman and I hate it. It was given to me. I believe it's a TC-420 (dude) so it may be made of weed. Blue with two hum bucking pickups. Maybe I've just never set it up properly and it's a great guitar. Was there a time when the model wasn't so good? Hmm. I just found one on Reverb and the description says that guy's (which looks just like mis and is probably of the same vintage, was a solid, not laminate body. He's only asking $399 for it, so maybe the earlier models are less desirable. Right now I have a synth pickup on it, so I can use my Boss Wavestation, which is essentially a hexaphonic fuzz. That way, I can sound way too much like Robert Fripp, Funny in the context of this video. I prefer Strats and usually get rid of all other guitars.
