@@2SmartAuto That alternator test you did will actually cause a bad alternator. When a "computer controlled" vehicle is running never disconnect the battery or it will cause a spike in the alternator and damage it.

First mistake...... you didn’t take it to a car shop to have someone to look at to tell you what was really wrong with it before you paid for it. That’s the common issue with ppl. They trust that a used/new car will run but don’t spend that little money to get it checked out (not at a dealership) but at a place you go to get your car checked out.

Exactly. You know that buying for so cheap that you will have issues. This is why I do not want to spend more than 4k on a used car from a person. I could always cut my loss and if I get 2 years of good driving then I am good.

I have a 2009 maxima. Bought new. Had to have a new transmission at about 75,000 miles. Sitting dead under my carport for past two years. Has about 150,000 now. Cranks up great, but can't make it out of the driveway. I was in my late fifties when my husband purchased it for me and it was treated very nicely. Too afraid to find out what is wrong. Will have to pay to be towed to dealership

Bought a 2012 Nissan Maxima full loaded with 160K for 4500, the guy said it had never being in an accident since he bought it, I bought it a year ago and now I feel like he car sometimes it losses power or won accelerate above 3 rpms.. idk what it is but it doesn’t happen that often and it has no lights on or anything like that..

Once I was driving to school 2 hours away in mountains and when I was arriving, I felt that the car wouldn’t pass above 3rpms, I took the exit and I made a stop, when I tried to accelerate the car wouldn’t move, it couldn’t move.. I thought It was over but then I just had to slowly really slow press the gas and the car took like 5 minutes to get to 30 miles per hour lol... it hasn’t happened since then but I feel like it hesitases when the car is running at 2/3 rpms lol.. it’s a pain in the ass

2 Smart Auto ok be vigilant about that dreaded CVT... I bought my 04 max 7 yrears ago 5 speed auto... never changed or flushed or drained it... no leaks ... gets up changes as fast as these newer cars.. goes into all gears with little shift shock... only replaced the valve body underneath it at over 150,000 miles... but never been inside the transmission or engine..I'm at 310,000 glorious miles.........💪🏾

Hey bro, I got my 2012 at 76k miles for $5k with a salvage title, you think they were hiding something or is that a fair price? Been driving it for a month now & just changed the transmission fluid. Everything works fine, no codes but the CVT gets hot after a few hours of driving (before the fluid change). Salvage was from a rear end, I assumed it was so cheap because salvage titles are hard to sell

@Hbgn if you have a Bluetooth obd2 reciever there's an app you can use to check the temp. I don't have one, I knew because my car went into a kind of limp mode that wouldn't let it accelerate past I think 2000 rpm. It's to protect it from getting damaged/overheated

First mistake buying a used maxima ..nissan haven perfected their cvt transmission they very sensitive people drive them like sports cars..second it doesn't matter if you change the cvt transmission fluid they still failed..third they dont so called don't fix cvt u have to get a new transmission over 5k..fourth even mechanic don't like doing maxima alternators it's good 3 hour job it's the hardest alternator to take out
