Never had a problem passing emissions with a 21 year old Nissan by simply clearing codes and then later changing a charcoal canister valve. Not sure if NJ's emission testing is as strict as other places and this will work everywhere though. The emissions problems of these old Nissans are usually soft codes and safe to clear with software because the emissions systems are not even broken when they are throwing code.

Really wish they didn’t switch to CVT. Not only does it create more problems, but the car isn’t a build car anymore. Before CVT, people made some insanely fast builds with the manual ones. Same problem with case cracking. Got it replaced for nothing as it was still under warranty. Of course that didn't pay for my time. I also replaced the main CAT as the case had rusted out where the pipe connecting is. A scrap guy bought both the old pre-cat and main cat off me for $140. I'm sure he got a lot more but nobody else would deal with me. They want to only deal with bulk.

But then Datsun started getting crappy toward the end of the 70's. Some of the Nissans rectified things. I currently have a 2006 Infiniti M45, but am wondering what to do with it. About 150k, and the front control arms and bearings need replacing. Also probably need new brake rotors. Don't know if I should throw money at it, or if that would be a stupid move. It's a second car at this point, so mileage would be low.

If you buy a 14 year old car with over 150000 miles on it and expect perfection you are kidding yourself. Scotty, to inspect a power steering rack correctly do it with the engine running, that way you are inspecting it with the pump running and i bet that play you think you felt will go away. Also it is illegal to vent R134a to atmosphere, to you telling a customer to keep filling an A/C system as a "professional mechanic"🤨 you are breaking the law. Also if the Cats are burnt up, check the fuel trim values as CATs don't die, they are murdered. I bet you will find the engine is running rich.

I have a Nissan Sentra on lease and the lease is going to be over and if i remember it right you mentioned about the JATCO transmissions are not good, so I decided to not to buy the Nissan but I visited the dealership today to ask about the process of returning the leased Sentra. They told me that now new Sentra's coming with now Honda's transmission. my question to you is that is it even true and if it is then Nissan Sentra a good reliable car and good buy now, Please let me know as I have to buy the car in about a month. Thanks

In other words, if your vehicle goes "clunk", it's still okay BUT, "clunka-clunk" means fix it asap.

R Verro Yup, I’m very glad I took my car in to get the suspension looked at. I drive a 2007 Ford Mustang and it made a “clunka-clunk” noise when I turned sharp. Had to invest over $1000 to get that fixed.

That clunk could just be a motor mount too! Lol

MrDave 777 True, I was thinking that may be something that needs to be fixed as well for a car that has 118,000 miles on it

Scotty first I love your videos. I just wanted to tell you I own a 2006 Maxima it has 328,000 miles on it. It has been a terrific car yes I've had to do maintenance but nothing major. It still has lots of power and will get up and go. Guess I have been fortunate. Keep up the great videos.
