I found my wife's Grandfather's Baseball bat in the rafters of the garage. It doesn't have a burned in stamp. She said his mother bought him a bat and ball. Before putting him on the boat to America. In the early 1900. He came from some country around Germany. I took it down. From the rafters. It was darken with being in the garage for years. It has dings and a few dents. But, Really is not in bad shape. She said her uncle didn't play sports. He played the piano. So it's been there since 1948 or so. I wondered what I would do with it. So I decided to sand it a little and bring back some of the good wood and leave the dents and ball dings. Thing give it a light coat Spar Urethne to make the dents and dings pop out from the wood. I have to tell you it looks antique for sure. The bat I believe was made around 1900.He came over on the boat in 1905. It's 2023 in August. So It has survived this long. She will be socked what it looks like now. I can't wait to surprise her! ☺ Shawn.
