I bought this Nissan Primera for £200, without doing any checks! Mistake were made!

Unfortunately this Nissan has a lot of input from Renault, so plenty of build quality issues when compared to the earlier Primera. Though as with Renaults the ones to buy are the basic ones, like this one.

The problem with VehicleScore is that the parameters they use to score the car mean a high mileage, twenty year old vehicle, is never going to come out of it well really!! Enjoyed the video, great bit of off-roading!😄

2 owner local car that's quite straight with good tyres and no obvious engine/driveline faults. Should clean up nicely. Do the fluid levels, etc, if it can get 12 months MOT it might make £895. Previous models beginning to get expensive.

I had a nissan Primera from new mine was 2005 2.2 diesel but unfortunately last year i was hit by a uninsured driver it had 297000 miles never gave me any trouble,never fixed anything on engine apart from service and chain replacement, got to be the best car i ever had. Yes the sat nav and heater was really confusing at first. Keep up the great video's

The biggest issue with that era Primera was build quality and depreciation because it wasn’t as reliable as the previous Primera That resulted in people buying them super cheap and running them into the ground and throwing them away. That’s probably why that one is still half decent at 20 years old, small number of long term owners.

Great video Joe, engine sounds good. These made great taxis as well. New of a few that went on to do 220,000 miles with no problems. You could see if any taxi firms want it or you could keep as a courtesy car for your business. Just an idea. Keep up the great work Joe. 😃😃👌👌

In the United States, this vehicle would be given the minimum amount of reconditioning and end up a buy-here-pay lot and sold with no warranty. The buyer would drive it like they stole it and would never check the fluids or do the least bit of maintenance to it. When it broke down they would stop making payments and it would be repossessed and the cycle would start all over again.

Had an advisory for 'floor covers fitted' on the trusty family Polo. I then removed them, and gave the covers a good detail along with waxing the now-exposed floors before re-fitting the covers. The amount of hidden stones and compacted filth was shocking, but it was so satisfying bringing the floors up like new again.

Some of the early Dacia stepways have had their plastic removed for remedial work now, pictures of underneath are quite revealing. Although some of the Japanese cars with covers are just as bad.

had 6 of these in last 5 year all been bulletproof used to go all over country in my last one was 20 year old and ate the miles bought it on 31k sold year later on 60k and sold it for more than paid for it also the last ones i had sold in a couple of days the last one had sold in a hour on Facebook had to mute the ad cos my phone wouldn't stop pinging cheap car that will probs never go wrong also you soon got used to the controls although your was the base model SE upwards had reverse camera and sat nav and bigger screen not bad for a 2002 car

Nice car, good colour. No such thing as a bad Primera, although early 1990s Diesels were a bit tardy (but economical and rock-solid). Would look alright after a full detail. New headlamps could take a month to come in from Japan though.

This isn’t a Japanese Nissan, it’s a Renault Nissan and was Made in Sunderland. The diesel engines where not reliable in any way shape or form. Which was a shame.

@@bigjml mechanics and electrics are Nissan I've had 5 of them and stripped 2 all of them by the way were 100% reliable and bulletproof only Renault bits found were the interior lights and door light covers

It’s ok, it may get someone out of a fix who needs a cheap runaround. It looks respectable enough. I reckon the MOT was done at the same time as the service. I know people that do that so they only do the minimum to keep it on the road. My 1991 Peugeot 405sri is a lovely car but only got 248 on vehicle score

I had a 1.8 petrol Primera, couple of years older than this and the previous model but it had 280k miles when I sold it, and there was really nothing wrong with it other than terminal tattiness. Good cars these and in the current climate I'd bite your hand off for £500 done up a bit!

I still drive my first owner (dad) Primera 1.6 07’ facelift (way better interior ) with 60k miles one owner . Did you know that they had radar and first european Japanese series car with back up camera for 2001. I also have a car that appears in this video . A fully restored 190E Mercedes from 1989 . 😂😅

No, you don’t have to offer warranty on any car but your are bound by the Consumer Rights Act, so the car must be fit for purpose (taking age, mileage etc into account)

That is cheap. I got one 06 plate and paid 700. But right after had to change battery head gasket and fix the bumper. The seller was sneaky. However I liked the car too much to sell it.😊

I think that vehicle score is grossly misleading. It’s a genuine survivor. For what you paid I reckon that’s pretty good, all the mot stuff is wear and tear. Would suit a diy enthusiast who wants to clean it up take it to the festival of the unexceptional. Can’t see it making huge profits for you though.
