When shifting you have to double clutch. Push in the clutch , take out of gear, let the clutch out and rev up a little. Push clutch back in and switch gears

First knob is wipers, second is headlights, third switch is air vent for left side. Knob on right side of steering wheel is air vent right, 5th knob over is choke, sixth knob is fan.

R. Air could be recirculate. The side hydraulic, we use it to fill seed drills. A hydraulic auger would go into the back of the truck and a chute on the other end would auger seed into drills.

My uncle has a truck almost exactly like this; to downshift you heel toe to rev match because on an un synchronized manual the input and output shafts are spinning at different speeds

L AIR and R AIR is probably for mechanical vents on the sides or cowl of the truck. This was typical of cars and trucks into the 70s that didn't have A/C.

Your throttle lever is to pull out when not moving to help your pto get a more then idle speed. Sorry I dont know more then that but the floor high beam switch should never have gone away with automatics!

Yea I do like that truck ! Spent many hours as a young boy riding shotgun in one with my father hauling beans to the elavator to unload . Every trip there was a stop at the old country store a bottle of pop for me and a six pack for the old man . At noon time chunks of cheese and bologna , no bread my father said that the Indians ate it that way so we had Indian sandwiches .Those were the days !

Option for the front brakes. Instead of an axle swap you can send the brake shoes out and get new pads rivited onto the shoes. Then the wheel cylinders can be rebuilt using aftermarket seals. Reusing the housings. Just hone them out. You can rebuild the front brake system.

292 motor is also found in the first few years of the 60s Mustang gt, 64-69 i believe. Good bit of aftermarket support for that motor, so adding something like powersteering or an ac condenser wouldn't be too hard.

yeah gonna have to get the front end swapped eventually to get brakes on it. get them window fixed, get the rust spots fixed. find some spray paint and coat those spots with paint and clear coat. hell, if the money for it was available I'd say give it to one of the custom shocks, have them fix the body panels and floorboards and windows, redo the bench seat, swap the front axle out for a newer ISH one so you got brakes and give it a nice paint job, then keep it at the ranch. for work there. or when you're gonna do projects like haulin dirt from one end to the other etc, or doing projects like the blind...use it to haul the material

L-air = left air vent R-air = right air vent Those are vents near feet on inside of front quarter panels for "air" to come in from outside while moving.. I have 1960 f-100.

1st gear is granny gear only need to use when loaded! Start in 2nd gear ! My very first vehicle was a 1960 f250 with a 292 and a granny 4 speed ! Oh yeah yes generator not alternater i think it's 6 volts also!

The school bus I rode in high school was a stick shift with 2spd rear diff. After the bus driver shifted into high gear he would let off the gas and pull the button to put the diff in high.

If memory serves me correctly the two speed rear end you need to go back to the low side once you shift into neutral before you go into the next gear. I might be wrong but if I remember right that's how my grandfather taught me how to drive his old one ton for the two speed rear end back in the mid-80s

Ford 292 small blocks have a lot of aftermarket options you could throw at it. Personally i say fix her up and just like the BBB have her as a working show truck. Would be a knarly SEMA build.

When i drove trucks years ago with 2 speed rear axles, mechanics recommended leave it alone. Put it in low with a load and otherwise put it in high. Just use the tranny gears. I saw guys drive shafts shifting the high low at each gear shift.
