This is just the opposite of how it is in Tampa. Instead of a restaurant seeing a few homeless outside and making them a sack lunch and a couple drinks and blessing them with a bus pass or a clean t shirt or something they grab the phone call the cops and beg the cops to locke them up . These are the most hstefull people I've ever seen around here .

I've always been of the mindset that we should be creating solutions for problems. There are so many abandoned buildings in most cities that could be used as shelters. In the town where I live, there was a private hotel with 150 rooms that closed its doors. Those rooms could be retrofit with kitchenettes and 150 families could have a temporary place to live. Many churches, civic organizations and ordinary citizens are creating transitional housing for the homeless; one of those ways being Tiny House communities. Don't lose hope. It's going to be up to us to come up with solutions. However, sleeping on the streets is a safety hazard for the homeless and also a health hazard for the public. We're already seeing new strains of Tuberculosis, Typhoid, and other diseases that come from human waste and garbage being left in the streets. I went to my city council with my idea for that hotel and I'm trying to get private backers to fund it. I challenge you to come up with a plan for your city. It may not solve the homeless crisis nationwide, but for the people of your town-well, it could be a game changer. Solving the world's problems is too big a task. It's best to start where you are and work on that.

@jwright42222 ай бұрын
It's tricky. Just letting one homeless person inside for protection from the weather, then more homeless people will come... and then the paying customers will leave. So they do have a point about not giving you food, as unfortunate as that is.

I never give to homeless people. But I’ve been trying to become more empathetic lately. I walked into a Safeway and there was a man outside with a sign that said “hungry and homeless “. My heart went out to him. I bought him a sandwich chips and two candy bars . I handed it to him on the way out. He didn’t even look up or acknowledge me, just grabbed the bag I handed him and kept eating whatever it was he already had. I know he’s facing all kinds of issues that I can’t even imagine, but damn to not even look at me or say anything? It’ll be awhile before my heartstrings are tugged on by a homeless person again. That being said, props to the guys in this video trying to help.

That's cool but non of this is genuine .. you don't need to show anyone your "kind" acts. Mathew 6:1-4 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others.
