Fun Fact: The author used to be in a big delinquent biker gang during his youth called The Black Emperor with the same Logo as Tokyo Revengers. There's a picture of him in online

happy birthday man! nice to see you are diving into Tokyo Revengers, I have a feeling you will enjoy it as the story progresses. For your concern, the comatose state really isn't explained at all. He's just in a coma and that's all, one of the many plot holes but very meniscal.
