I am still amazed watching you fell the trees towards the intended direction Simon. The area is beginning to look fantastic. You must look after your back Simon🙏🙏🙏as you said it’s either the disc above or below the previous surgery that takes no a naughty trait. I so enjoyed that. Thank you. ❤️🇦🇺🇸🇪

A busy day, working in those temperatures is hard on the body and equipment. unless you have done it, people do not realise how much work has to be done to get by. Great vid, stay safe and lucky.

Absolutely William, 99% of people have no clue what is required to survive. We have no choice but to do it. If I don't do it we have to leave and go back to civilization. It will break me and eventually kill me but I am prepared for that rather than the alternative. Be well William.

I can relate to your back pain as I've had my own struggles with degenerative disc and herniated disc. You have my sympathy Simon. Lower back pain leaves you immobile and helpless when it acts up. And then on days when you feel good you go get something done and aggravate it again. I usually can't detect my limit until I've exceeded it. It's a vicious cycle. Such is the life of an aging man who's worked hard through injury in his earlier days. Be well and good luck.

You are a man that knows Matthew, you never quite know were the limit is until you pass it. Like the grip of a tire on a race track. Grip, grip and crash. You would not be surprised to see how many men around me all walk stooped or on sticks as a result of exactly that. Take care out there.

Thanks Simon, I think you made the correct choice on the big birch, well done on forest management. I pulled 6 log truck loads of infested Ash and cut and split 250 cords in 6 years now I'm managing the hard maple. Take care buddy.

What was the Ash infested with Mark? I certainly do miss large tree's and any kind of hard wood. Milling this soft stuff and trying to build with it is a real challenge. These are mere stick compared to your felling. Good job Mark keep up the good work.

@@arctic-rebel Simon it is emerald bore beetle, all the Ash in USA is dying with it.

Well just done some research on the EAB, not good at all or the deaths it causes in humans. Stay with it Mark I am sure you will get straight with time. Another invasive species causing havoc on your beautiful lands.

@@arctic-rebel Simon it sure wiped all the Ash out, they are trying to replant but that will take sometime, it will be the same as the American chestnut, finally the coldsnap broke temperature up to 30 degree F.

Howdy Simon- good that you’re able to get out in the forest and do some work. Glad to see you taking care of the woods and being responsible. Not too many people here will do what you’re doing for management. Take care of your back and stay warm my friend. God bless

I hope you stayed inside Eric, even I have my cut of point , it is just to dangerous to be out in those temperatures. Today was the coldest day of our winter so far but next week looks safe to be out again. Take care out there.

Hi Simon🙂 We drove across the border yesterday for a little shopping trip.. and it was cold! -33°C... a bit below my comfort zone🥶 At the moment it's - 10, and little to no wind, so it has been nice to be outside today, All the best to Sarah, you and Kasper.. have a great weekend 👍

It has been -30 here all day and yesterday was -28 which ended my outside trips. As you know next week should be good for wood processing outside so all good. I agree with -33 being below the comfort zone, I stop at -25. Take care and thank you.

Great job thinning the woods. I'm sure the smalls will really explode in growth the next couple of years now. Just curious to what the tracks in the snow were? I couldn't tell but figured some type of kitty? I've had it in my back and it radiates all the way to the bottoms of my feet. Makes for lots of misery for sure. Rest easy my friend and stay warm. Thanks for sharing and we'll see you down the road..... Hello Sara 👋

I can see from the last 3 seasons how improved the area is and yes some kind of cat but not sure which still guessing at Linx but the prints look to big. Unless you have suffered from a crushed disc nobody can even imagine the leg and back pain. Stay safe and thanks.

@@arctic-rebel Yeah, thanks Simon... we're all well. I had to step into/ out of a situation and help someone at their camping ground - long story but because all camping grounds are still closed at the moment it's a bit of an off-grid experience. I will have to rely on providing my own internet access if it becomes long term. So, for now I only have access when I'm at home for a few hours... fun!

I want this one ! I love so much this snowmobile ! But i live in central France, a region that is not very snowy but even if i move out to a snowy region i think that snowmobiles would not be recognized, cause apart from the ski stations rescue services and eventually snowmobile rental for a short trip, snowmobiles are not really recognized, and owning a snowmobile and exploring paecefully snowy trails is not an easy thing ... That's why i need your help, I want to get snowmobiles recognized as a vehicle, get them street legal, that everybody could own his own snowmobile and explore the swnowy trails without harming nature, neighbours and animals, eventually a snowmobile cross field, or special trails if they can't be street legal, but I JUST WANT TO RIDE SNOWMOBILES WITHOUT HARMING ANYBODY (nor the nature) AND WITHOUT BEING OUTLAW, There's nothing bad with the snowmobiles, I WANT TO RIDE A SNOWMOBILE ! If I really can't have mine or ride mine, i'm will go into exile in Switzerland or Sweden, but i'll keep on fighting for snowmobile recognition in 5 mountain regions, Alpes, Jura, Vosges, Massif central and Pyrénées, god save the snowmobiles !

In fact, i think we can own a snowmobile but we can not drive it on road, but at least on my private garden and eventually on snowy trails but being very discrete ...
@arctic-rebel

Different countries have different rules and laws, in Sweden snowmobiles are a legal vehicle which is registered, taxed and insured but you cannot drive down a road only cross it and many trails exist and are groomed. Alaska and some US state you can drive them on the road so if you want to spend much more time on snowmobiles you will need to relocate to an Arctic region where you have 5 or 6 mouths each year to use them in some regions maybe 7 months a year.

I am assuming you are from the north of Norway, across the border we have 700mm of snow. Only a moose can walk in 700mm of soft snow. You tell me if 700mm of soft snow justifies snow shoes because they are a pain in the ass to work in, hard work and dangerous when using a chain saw.
