I'm glad she made it clear towards the end of the video she does not rely on this income. It's obvious she doesn't. I live in the Los Angeles area and that type of home in Malibu would require a minimum of 1 million dollars in household income to afford. They were clearly wealthy and successful way before her starting this business. This doesn't take away her hard work and passion but I hope people watching this video don't think that 129k a year would allow them to live like they do. Good for them for being successful immigrants. My experience doing business with Persians impressed upon me that they are a highly educated, highly successful group. At least the Persians who made it to the LA area. A good portion of them are Persian Jews who came here under religious asylum after the revolution.
@MFKaradayiEnglish Жыл бұрын
I mean she has a degree in computer science from the UK before moving to LA in 1987. You can imagine how ahead of her time she was with that type of degree. Recruiters would fight for qualified CS engineers in the late 80s and early 90s since there were very few of them. She's obviously highly educated with an equally high income and I am guessing her husband as well
Also a person would have to have an income of $1M per year just to afford to pay her prices for her boxes of pasta! Meanwhile us in the lower class have to make do with our $1.25 box of pasta from the grocery store! LOL.

She's wonderful! She found a perfect balance between her personal life (being a mother and wife, sharing wonderful moments with her family) and professional life (having her own business and expressing herself creatively through it). There's also another lady that makes pasta and has similar lifestyle - Nadia Caterina Munno. So I suppose we should follow their example when it comes to life philosophy.

Yup! I'm from Alabama and met a bunch of folks from up north when I went to college in Nashville. Had to show them how we do it down here lol -- their surprise was the most fun part, I think. My housemate threw a huge party one night and we had plenty of stragglers still there the next morning, so my other housemate and I got prepared. I tip toed downstairs to do a head count while they were all still piled together in bed to see how much coffee we were gonna need and make sure we had enough breakfast for them. First sleepyhead wandered up and asks "is that coffee?" and we're like "yup, we got a big pot on, you want a cup?" (poor dude was still drunk from the night before) so we fixed him up a bagel and coffee and he's still just like "whoaaa... dude, you guys are so nice, you made me coffee and fed me" -- of course we did!!! in this house we're hospitable!!

TLDR: The key idea of the video is that homemade pasta can be a profitable business and a source of joy and connection, but the creator wants to keep it personal and not mass produce it. 00:00 🍝 Pasta is a universal comfort food that brings joy and connection when cooked at home, and the speaker wants to revive the culture of homemade cooking and gathering with loved ones. 00:46 🍝 Woman in California makes money by cooking and selling her creative and delicious Persian dishes, inspired by her upbringing and desire to provide easy meals for her daughter. 02:28 🍝 Woman starts making pasta videos on Instagram, goes viral, and now earns $129K a year from her pasta business. 03:59 🍝 A pasta maker shows off her kitchen tools and ingredients, including different types of greens, beets for color, and various olive oils. 05:01 💰 Sales started coming in as soon as the speaker opened a shop to sell their patterned pasta, despite initially not wanting to start a business. 06:01 💰 People are paying $100 for pasta, and the creator's family helps make it in their kitchen with love and passion. 06:51 🍝 A woman makes and sells "Gucci" pasta, earning $129K a year, with her family helping for free and people from around the world taking her cooking classes. 07:33 🍝 Fiona's Pasta is a passion project that has the potential to grow, but the creator wants to keep it personal and not mass produce it, only considering selling it when she is older and ready to move on.

Made with love by grandmothers! It doesn't get better than that. Yanno, our country needs to invent a visa solely for grandmas. We have an investor visa and other work visas but sadly, not one for grandmothers. Some cuisines really need the grandma's touch. Moroccan cuisine is one example, Persian another. It's just not the same delicious food when it is not made by grandmas from that culture.

@@3069mark That’s why this video is essentially lying. This lady comes from a wealthy family, has a computer science degree which helped keep her wealthy, and her husband is also likely wealthy. If anything this pasta business was just a hobby that happened to have a profitable market. The only reason it’s making money is because of how small-scale it is. On a larger scale this business would fail because of how expensive it is, and because the market for specialty pasta isn’t large enough to accommodate pasta that’s $80-$200+ a box.
