Those old brass nuts are fragile. The return pipe on my 996 had a few leaks on it. Machined steel tees and soldered car copper brake pipe in to make the manifold. Good job with the jubilee clip M😀

I need to learn to braze and make stuff like that myself.

Long time since I did any brazing. Years ago I had a kit that you fitted to a arc welder and it made a arc between the electrodes a bit like oxy/acetylene flame. You could get thin metal hot enough to braze with it. You were never cold working it. M 😀 @@path.of.discovery

spent many years working on David Browns even on 2/3 year old tractors the leak off pipes were fragile and needed to be treated with great care so best not to use pipe grips ... Use a short 7/16" flange nut spanner if they are tight but normally an open end spanner will do the job.

Good advice! That wrench I'm using is a type of adjustable wrench made by Knippex. Pliers wrench I think they call them. Flat parallel jaws with no teeth. But your point is taken, I should be using an actual wrench to be able to feel torque better. The pliers wrench I was using could do some damage on those nuts by tightening too much. Thanks for watching and for the comment!

Hello what's the golden rule don't fix what ain't broken but I can see why you broke it cos you like showing us how to fix it lol seriously good video like Barry I had a look and he's correct different websites or suppliers charge differently but over 400 dollars WOW

Lol! 🤣😂That's right! All on purpose just as an excuse to make a video! The messick's site had changed since I looked at it last. Check out this link from Messicks part locator: www.messicks.com/partlocator/CNH/K904250 Messicks doesn't stock it, but they found one in an "Obsolete Warehouse" for $587. 🤔🙄😯 No thank you.

Hi Shane, you got a great deal on the leak off pipe, just checked one supplier website and they are wanting £66 plus VAT and P+P, so $48 in delivered is brilliant, some suppliers just don't know what to charge, your guy in the States was way off the mark, I like to drop the names of good suppliers in the vid's so others can hopefully get a good deal and by-pass the rip off merchants. That looks a great environment your in there any chance of some footage of your land out there. great video as usual many thanks GBarry

Thanks Barry, yes, some suppliers are ripoffs. I've got a video in the works on plowing/discing that's got lots of views of the property/fields

Free Tip : Invest in some crow-foot wrenches/adapters and a torque wrench. They keep you from over torquing things.

Lol, I did exactly that after that little fiasco! Have me some crows foot now and a smaller torque wrench. Harbor Freight specials, but they should last for what I do with them. Thanks a bunch!

I need to learn how to braze. I think I could fix the old one by brazing it? Good to have an extra if needed. Thanks for the comment!
