Miyadaiku is one of the greatest building techniques known to man which the Japanese invented & have used for centuries. No screws, glue, nails, or any electric tools are used. It’s a masterful type of building.
@eduardopena589311 ай бұрын
This type of carpentry goes back centuries in all cultures because there WERE none of these things in any culture back then.
@alexdaman.11 ай бұрын
@@eduardopena5893 you aren’t wrong entirely however, this particular style is called Miyadaiku and was specifically created by the Japanese. They used highly complex and advanced jointing called Sashimono, have a look and you’ll see to what I’m referring.
@Echo_the_half_glitch11 ай бұрын
The only flaw I can see with this sort of building is if you have really rough weather or something, or termites if the building is mostly wood.
@alexdaman.11 ай бұрын
@@Echo_the_half_glitch you aren’t completely wrong here, they use Hinoki which contains oils that have a high bactericidal effect, preventing the harboring of termites, mold, and bacteria. They also use a special wood whose growth is treated with a resin or pigment that contains ingredients which repel wood-decomposing bacteria and termites.
@eduardopena589311 ай бұрын
@@alexdaman. It was just their version of building with only wood. And no, I am not wrong at all. Every other culture on this plane that learned carpentry built things in the same manner. They didn't have nails or glue. The Europeans developed their own version of this with dovetail construction. You aren't revealing anything new to me. But the Japanese didn't invent the concept of building without nails, screws, or glue. This is just their version of the same thing. The Amish in America still build things this way.

In some levels you can sell leftovers for extra cash (after finishing just click stay). You also can pick up the ladder to get 20 cash and just lose 5 when placing(+15 from just picking up and placing down once,regaining 5 when picking up from then). When finished and staying, pick up ladder and hit ESC, little easter egg id say. Just some minor things to get extra cash

If you like the destruction mechanics of this game, you should play Red Faction Guerilla or Armageddon. Neither of them feature excessive building techniques like this, but the detail put into the destruction physics is absolutely fantastic, and this is despite them both being over 10 years old. They're a blast, but I recommend guerilla for the channel due to it being open world with many different quests, compared to Armageddon, which isn't open world and doesn't have side-quests.

I think the Japanese used this building method because they didn't have enough iron to spare for nails. So they resorted to resources they have.

It also means that the structure can flex a bit more during earthquakes (which is also why the supports were just placed on top of rocks instead of being driven into the ground.)

with al the connections being wood base i believe has to do with european woodworking how ever a more advance way of this kind of woodworking is japanese (but this game has simplistic woodworking) so im probaly not that correct but ive also seen wooden peg constuctions in very old barns / houses. wood on wood is more natural then metal + serten metal tend to rust or erode to a serten extend. (so yeah wood acts the same) unless if you get bugs eating it... but yeah im not a carpenter or woodworker but this is what i know about it so far. stil intressting to see it in a game.
