Nice video. Relly nice riding and landscapes at the top. I have loads of days with Lynx, as well as Polaris and other brands, so I have some ideas, how to make your life with Lynx easier. With Lynx and I think that also with Ski-Doo, you must adapt your riding a lot, if you compare to Polaris. Polaris has its steering bar/post much more to the back than BRP has. So this means, that your weight is naturally more to the back. This is why you ride Polaris with your arms. But BRP and specially Lynx, you ride with your legs and feet. The steering bar is just to house the brake and gas. So try not jerk the sled from it. Concentrate on your feet. The positioning is key. Keep your feet on the edge of the runningboard. So you can feel the narrow edge under your feet. When you initiate sidehill or pow turn, just make settle counter steer, and then press the sled to the side with the bottom of your feet. And after that keep your mind on the bottom of your boot. Keep all the weight needed on the bottom of your boot. Control the sled with your feet and keep your arms relaxed. Also the positioning lenghtwise is really important with Lynx. This is the way not to over ride your Lynx and it becomes way way way more predictable. Give some time to adapt this kind of a riding style next time you are out. I can assure, that with in a day, you will notice a huge difference on your riding and on the way that your Lynx behaves. I would suggest you to give this a go, before changing the skis.

That’s alright - had to replace my airbox after the first ride because I found a tree well. And cracked the hood on my second ride. Power got away from me both times. As is, I didn’t get into this to be cheap 😂

Put the Ski Doo skis on and it’s a whole new machine. Did this to my Lynx last year and it made the machine react more the way I wanted. Although I was coming from a ski doo to begin with.

Seems the glove compartment is a weak spot on the Gen 5's heard of a few people having that happen. I'll be bringing my plastic welder to sicamous with me when i come out for the season. Seems like there could be a market for people needing sled plastic repairs with the low snow conditions lol

Cut/narrow down your skis, under an inch from both sides of the ski. A lot easier to get on edge and lighter manuverability. Or swap to Ski-Doo DS4 ski.

compartment syndrome is for real man, be careful with calf injuries you could easily loose a leg. id recommend the er if that happens again

If you're getting a couple turns you need to pulls the pin on the chain tension. If you know what you're feeling, you need to feel the tension ramp up and then back it off a half turn or full turn. You're better to have a bit of slack rather than too tight when it comes to chain tension. If you don't know what to feel for, get s mechanic to show you because it isn't something to go without checking regularly.

You just need to learn the fundamentals of snowmobiling before you hop in to all of the re-entries, hop overs, etc. Snowmobiling is a steep learning curve and you can’t skip anything in the process of the learning curve. Keep trying and don’t give up you are doing good.

I think part of the reason that the Polaris is more predictable is because it has so much less horsepower. Try riding the lynx at half throttle and tricky situations and you will find it to be a lot less lively. Been riding turbo skidoo’s for a bit, seems in tricky stuff keeping the power smooth is best, I know all my buddies on the Polaris are always on / off the throttle and I find that makes the skidoo want to wander.

Much less hp? 9r and boost have the same hp as the shredder r. 850 at both have the same.

I picked up my 9R155 last week and in 6.4 miles the engine seized. The crankshaft journal seized to the case halfs. New engines on its way. Thanks for the great video and comparison.

You’re kidding! I’m sorry to hear that man. It’s unfortunate that Polaris struggles with their quality because they make awesome machines. I hope it’s back in action quickly for you. I’m curious to see how they perform.

@@Bryce_Cardinal We are still waiting for the complete engine, this Friday will be 2 weeks. Engine failed 2/6 23 I have been with Skidoo since 09 jumped ship this year because of the handling issues. My 2011 skidoo engine did fail at 1200 miles. Looking forward to riding my R9 and getting the feel I like. Thanks for the great info and videos. Paul Townsend Baker City, Oregon 65 years old.

The Matryx is just a better chassis. Polaris has owned that category since the Pro chassis came out. But BRP shines in other places over the Polaris. Same with Cat. There's pros and cons to every brand.🙂
