Talking about recatching fish... Several years back, we were out fishing Lake Rescue in Vermont. Just worms with bobbers, out in decently deep water in an old wooden rowboat. Hooked what we thought was a snag, as the sun was be going to set. Ended up having to cut the line, the bobber still under water. Next day, out just rowing. Happened across the same bobber, not far from where we’d gotten “snagged. Went to reach for the bobber, thinking we could at least save having to buy another. Felt a ver strong tug on the line, boat started moving. Had gloves on for rowing, so SOME advantage pulling straight line. About 15-20 minutes later, nearly losing circulation in one of my hands, we pulled in a 30lbs Lake Trout. Not a record, but certainly a PB for this 16 year-old (at the time). Sadly, after Dad had to row us back to the dock, locals told us there was a Mercury issue in the lakes at that time (paper mills discharging into the lake. Never got to eat that trout, and Dad had pretty much bludgeoned it after I hauled it into the boat, so was not a catch and release option. He’d really wanted to grill that monster up. Was a great couple of days of lake fun, either way. Of course, over the years, the fish got bigger, but I’ll go with what the locals said, since I’d felt the weight as “ a couple of bowling balls” even before they stated it was “at least 30!” That’s likely what led to higher numbers around the dinner table, all those years later!

What an awesome friendship between Ben & Casey. Plus, Ben gets first dibs on the incredible fishing gear 6th Sense makes, and experimenting with new "prototype" baits! Casey's reaction when Ben's line broke off, while setting the hook, was absolutely funny AF. Ben gets so emotional when he pulls a hook or breaks off his line. It's like watching my 8-year old son go nutters, when he's snagged in 20 lbs. of hydrilla or hooked the biggest piece of wood in a brush pile. You're living a good life, brother. Keep up the hard work :) Continued success and more importantly, continue to have fun and enjoy each day, with what makes you happy and the people that make you happy ~ FISHING & FAMILY!!!

Bed trolling is not Fishing.. Fishing has skill involved.. Bed TROLLING takes no skill.. you just sit your lure on their nest and pester them till they attack the Lure, AKA : Fish they think is raiding there spawn.. That's why it is illegal in most places..

In 2019 I was catfishing at my wife's family pond. A fish grabbed the bait and jerked the entire rod and all in the water. I had just cast that line out and was setting up to cast out a 2nd. About 30 minutes later I saw the bobber I had been using pop up. I managed to cast out and catch the line, pull in my rod and everything. Fish was still on the line. Craziest thing ever I've ever had happen while fishing.

That was just about the only thing I could think of to say, "What is happening?!?" That was classic my friend, classic! Oh yeah, it was also High-lariously silly!!!! I'm also glad you threw those words in there...."saved her life" cause it wouldn't surprise me if you did just that!! Quite a few fish are actually pretty good at spitting out hooks or lures that snap off, but then again the purpose of the dang thangs is to go in and NOT come out until intentionally removed!!!! I can't imagine what it must be like to possibly live out your last few years trolling along a friggin hook and 10 feet of line everywhere you go!! Those are the nasty thoughts that can make a person not want to fish anymore.(shudder) It sounds outrageous to say 'not want to fish' WTF???!!??! That's exactly how horrible it makes me feel to know there are fish swimming with trash stuck in them!! THANK YOU GUYS!!!!!! THANK YOU!! Neither one of you had to try what you did, but you DID!!! That gets you both so many fishing godz brownie points, it will definitely up your Karmic intake of gorgeous catches in the future, trust in that!!!! WOW that was cool!! I gotta watch that again!

That would be my best fishing trip, on that lake with Ben, Cole and Casey. Good stuff guys. I did, years ago hook a 4.7lb pickerel on a minnow. It broke me off. 15 minutes later I was throwing a old Rebel blue and silver broken back and hooked a tank. To my surprise it was the same fish and the lure tangled in the line.

Fishing on the red river I had a good strike on a wacky worm. Set the hook and my line brook. I swore for 15 minutes that it was like a 5lb fish. We fished around a little cove and when we got back to where I broke off my buddy was throwing a crank bait and sets the hook and say he has one, no it came off, no I have it, what is going on. Turns out he caught my line and the 5 lb fish was actually a 14 inch fish.

Dude, you're setting the hook way too hard. You're literally ripping lips. Lean into your hook set and reel instead of using as much pole to yank.. leaning into your hook set also keeps the bait in a position that if missed the first time the fish is still in reach to hit it in another attempt. You will pull x20 more fish out of the water that way, SCOUTS HONOR.

I watched a guy fishing with his son, and he put his rod down to help him. All of the sudden his rod gets dragged almost into the water and he grabs it and gives it a quick hook set. A 3lb bass comes jumping out of the water and the guys line had broke. After awhile they left so I set up my lawn chair and threw out some cutbait on the bottom and was throwing a top water. I saw my cutbait rod bend so I grabbed it and set the hook. It felt funny but it was fighting. Then I see I am pulling in line that I am tangled in and hand line it in only to find out it was the bass the guy hours ago lost. Fish was happy, I was happy, and I probably will never get that lucky ever again.
