That’s a lot of ARR in 87 days, but it isn’t a zero to hero story. They already had a customer base, cash flow, and a strategic direction before they pivoted to a SaaS product. Cool story, but not very replicable.

Crazy to see how they charge this much, as a developer you know that it's easy to build and the overall cost is very low. You also have to be very carefull when doing cold emailing because those poeple dind't give you the permission to just advertise to their email. And how the man needs this much developers/costumer support people is the real mystery.

5:30 I think you took the completely wrong lesson out of this by saying he started it with 0 dollars... He's saying very correctly that a SaaS costs a lot of money (especially marketing and being able to survive until your MRR is high enough). To be able to start that without any initial funds, you can start an agency and provide services. This allows you to learn the business and then come up with ways to do it more efficiently. This solves the problem of having no money, as you already get paid for the services, while you can find product market fit, as you are literally in the market.

@mr0sage
@mr0sage 5 ай бұрын
Not necessarily because here are some real powerful SaaS products that can be white labelled. This has some significant downsides (e.g. in terms of selling the business, you don't own the underlying tech so it will be harder to find a buyer and it will sell for a lot less) but there is also massive upside in terms of affordability and getting started in SaaS for a non-technical founder. But if you main aim is to create a shit ton of revenue and profit with SaaS and you are not a techy type, then it's a good route to go down.

There are a lot of inconsistencies here. 1/ If they (were) fulfilling manually, how do they generate 1k-10k actual leads for a client of them, especially in a day? 2/ If they use their previous contacts, well first of all I doubt it is agreed by those in the list to sell their data left and right.. , but even so, then it's not 80something days, but years in the making. 3/ The rest I won't write now.

Good question! Whether it’s legal depends on how the data is collected, used, and shared. Most legitimate SaaS platforms that handle people’s information comply with privacy laws like GDPR or CCPA, which require transparency, consent, and secure handling of data. If the platform provides value by organizing publicly available information in a compliant way, it can be perfectly legal. That said, it’s always worth looking into how a service handles data to ensure it aligns with privacy regulation

Maaan, it's "Productized Service" not "Productized SaaS" 😂 this doesn't even make any sense. What he's describing is a very well-known method to build an MVP called "The Wizard of Oz"

wait isnt that bad? hes saying $1m ARR in. 87 days. that reads to me he got up to a million but then couldnt onboard or sell to anyone else or found it harder even with most of the year left? surly if he got $1million ARR in 87 days that should have been a catalyst to get more sales maybe even easier than the $1M...
