Better idea if you just want a rotating "room"... Lazy Susan UNDER you. Yeah, just keep the TV and camera stationary, and put a giant turntable under your desk and you and the desk can rotate. @@RyoHazuki224 Also, i think i wanted to experiment with moving the screen, instead of the environment....now imagine the Camera and screen moves on a linear slide, or on a vertical slide instead of rotating.....it kinda opens the mind for moving the screen around talent VS building a super large screen that shows everything. I think i'll expand on this idea more in my follow up video on it.

@MAKEARTNOWCHANNEL true, if you need to have other movements besides rotating then yeah. Hmm, if only you could get like one of those programmable robotic arms like how MKHB or Slo Mo Bro's have for those repeatable camera moves, but also somehow have that robot arm on a powerful "roomba"-like base that can act as an omni-directional dolly... But you would need two, one for the TV and one for the camera. The mad scientist in me may be going too far here! Haha

The amount of effort this guy puts into his youtube work betrays social media's bias towards generic unoriginal content, especially in the photography and videography/cinematography space. This is why creativity is dying, you don't get rewarded for it anywhere near as much as you used to - to nearly all people, safety and fitting in is more important than taking a risk and standing out. I've been subbed to this channel for a very long time and, compared to his peers, it 'should' be in the millions of subs. But if you're not generic, you'll be divisive, and less people will be interested. Glad his hunger and desire for his own flavor of expression has driven him to nearly half a million subs but it was slowwww going

I actually mounted an 85” tv in my studio on a custom rotating bracket to have it vertical for portraits. I use it as my full screen monitor for CaptureOne! Anyone under 6’ tall is displayed at (or larger than) life sized. Clients love it because they can see the nuances of the poses and we can finely tune every aspect of the image. I’m currently workin on ways to use it as a virtual backdrop to shoot against but I’m having reflection issues. Either way it’s been a super fun project! Super cool to see someone else using a big ass tv for a unique purpose!

You wouldnt need to add more counter weight on the other side. Just pull on the ratchet strap more on the TV side. I work in an industrial environment and we do massive lifts with loads that are not even all the time and we just use large chain falls to level off the load and also to "change the center of gravity" so we can slide it into tight areas. You could get away with a really small come along or even ratchet strap since you can access the handle. You just want to put a dead man on which in my case is a sling that is a little bit longer so if the chain fall fails the load doesnt fall down and kill us. I'd personally do that on both sides since you could take a lot of the load off the orbiter. Just have the orbiter spinning the load. As a side note if you even want to see something really cool contact Mammoet. You'd most likely need to travel but if you wanna see some of the most impressive transport and lifts they are the guys that are typically hired to do them around the world. Just as one example check out a video called "Heartland Petrochemical Complex - Splitter Move" and "Heartland Petrochemical Complex - Splitter Lift". I love to nerd out on the Mammoet youtube page as well
@MAKEARTNOWCHANNELАй бұрын
That’s what I thought, but the mount at the ceiling was way off balanced, and ultimately lead to the crack at the end. If I were to do this again I would build a bigger chassis and Bearing and put the motor on gears on the side. I seriously could have hurt myself with this one as is.

Work and university just taking every single second I have from me - had 10 days off last month, didn't even start the edit for the video I wanted to finish. But there is some good news: It's been hanging in the middle of my living room since I got it and it's working nicely. Just recently started to work on a 3D printed bracket that you can screw into the ring light to hold stuff and been working on it to be able to hold stuff in position so you can orbit around products that can hang from the Orbit instead of needing to place them on a table. Lot's of work to be done though, unless you know your way around a greenscreen and editing, then it's already at like 98% usable. Other than that I'm still working on a perfect setup for my long term project (which I was buying this for), however I think I just need to figure out a good way to edit it - and I'm sure I'm just overdoing it WAY to much again. Going for the last 5% that nobody will notice anyways haha. Probably going to finally start that next week. It's taking some time, but I'm getting there (someday)

At 0:16 your "monitor" is reflecting both your gesturing hand and the virtual stairs from the Bravia TV, which can also be seen partially occluded in the background. That would have been hell in green screen. You could have had a virtual character walk down those stairs while you react to it and it would look so real. Those are the perks of this kind of setup: light interaction and improvisation.

20:50 CPL can work if the light that is making the reflection is polarized itself. So if you have a light source that is making a reflection - you have to place a polarizing filter in front of it and than the CPL on the camera lens will remove it completely.

@@MAKEARTNOWCHANNEL they all work. But if you put a low quality CPL on the lens it will reduce the resolution and mess up the colors. For the lights you can check a couple of places (from old monitors and TVs to buying new polarizing foil from China for screens or some companies make it specifically for lights). Rosco is a good brand for professional foil and they have this RoscoView that can be applied on windows or other light sources. It is like magic because you can turn off any light or screen with CPL on the camera lens.
