They really messed up with the Creaking. It's supposed to be unnerving, looming... playing upon the fear of the unknown. Instead, before it even comes out, everyone who watches Minecraft videos already knows exactly what it is, what it can and can't do, and how to defeat it. It's hard to pull it off given the nature of Minecraft, but they could've done a better job of this. Maybe not mentioning it, like a Super Secret Friday update, or leaving stuff out. The Creaking isn't scary. Everyone knows about everything already these days and that's why nothing's scary. By the time Halloween comes around again, the Creaking will be old news and, if anything, take away from the fear Minecraft can instill by means of making it clear that it's trying to scare the player, meaning there's nothing to be afraid of. This is the opposite of Herobrine.
