I built a FISH TRAP to catch TROUT in a Mountain Lake!!!

I built a primitive fish trap at the Mountain Farm to go Trout fishing. After a quick update at the Farm, I head to the lake to try out my new fishing trap. Ice fishing was a bit sketchy due to warmer weather and rain... Plus will the trap work?

There's a cave in iceland famous for their absolutely massive trout, if you ever decide to go on a holiday definitely recommend visiting it. It's called Lake Thingvellir. We're talking trout over 30lb!!

I recommend putting knots in the safety line to make sure ur grip doesn't slip. Especially if ur tired and fall through. U'll be fighting for ur grip if u don't

Those are great! And you can pack your gear in it. Or, since he has a pulk, he could use it to keep his catch fresh. Or as a bait/forage bucket. So versatile!

It takes about 3-4 weeks of consistently warm/rainy weather for the ice to be effected, that being said if there is any water on top of the ice that adds a lot of weight and could compromise the integrity of the ice and should be fished with extreme caution! Your killing it on the ice man, an absolute fish whisperer on the soft and hard water! Congrats on the new property leif!

I wish I had ice like that. Where I’m located in Massachusetts I’m lucky if the ponds and lakes get any ice. I barely get snow. I bought a whole bunch of ice fishing gear last year and still have not got a chance to use it. So I thank you for sharing your experiences.

Once you put the fish on the ice, they are dead. they dont die instantly but once they hit the ice they are goners. Id recommend the next time you want to put a fish back but need a pic of it. Get the pic of it in midair then release them. or have something warmer than the ice to set them on. not too warm or you will send them into shock. You and Simple Living Alaska inspired me to start my own youtube channel so thank you. I was literally watching your video while editing my latest vid lol.
