I agree, a setting to enable guests coming into the park already in bathing suits would be cool. Could probably set it so it only happens if you have water rides or pools, so that you don't need to decide whether you are a water park or a "normal" park. though I don't know how easy to add that would be.

also one thing I don't think they took into account is that usually, families go to waterparks ALREADY in their bathing suits. Then when they go home they just dry off and sit on their towels in the car. So they can probably cut down on guests filling changing rooms by making most or half of them already changed.

Since frontier is based in the uk, our theme parks like alton towers and Thorpe park all close surprisingly early on normal days (like in the summer). Pretty much 4-6PM, 6PM on being on busy days.

@@BeyondDrewTV No way you're the minority there. Orlando resident here, 4 waterparks within a 15 min drive from me - I'd say about half of the guests show up dressed for it already. Purely anecdotal, but I agree with you: There has to be some tweak they can make to alter that. If you have more than half your attractions in your park as water slides/rides, guests should show up ready for that.

Great slide area, totally agree with the wave pool. I'd be willing to bet there are few to no wave pools in the world that have 24/7 waves, so it'd be nice to have that be on a trigger. I think even RCT3 had the waves stagger, so it's odd to see it constantly going. Just from first impressions that people are posting on YT it looks like this game might be a tad rushed and will need a lot of work. We can only hope that the Steam reviews won't tank if this is the case. The game definitely looks fun though, and I'm very excited for it for the water parks alone, even with all the flaws of the slides

I really hope you use some of your industry knowledge to continue building really realistic water parks - in particular taking consideration for lifeguard positions, blind spots, first aid room & representing pool plant etc. Would love to hear more of your stories from lifeguarding !! if you want exit pools, get a slide that goes into a pool. Close the pool so no one goes in it, when someone goes down the slide he will exit straight away. So its an exit pool!

10:15 you can actually add custom supports and columns, so I recommend replacing some of the auto-supported slide parts with non-supported slide parts and use those custom columns and supports

Really interesting to see. I honestly think the simulation in the game might take more inspiration from European amusement parks, theme parks, and waterparks. Like in Europe a lot of theme parks and amusement parks close at around 5pm already. A lot of European parks, especially in Northern Europe also have their waterpark within the gates of the amusement park, just as a different area. But in Europe, EVERYONE has to go through changing rooms and mandatory showers first before entering the waterpark perimeters. Thats for health and safety codes and hygiene as to make sure the waters dont get infected with bacteria. Its taken very seriously here.

Very interesting insight! That's very different from here in the States. It's optional to take a shower and from my own experience, many people come to water parks with bathing suits on already under their normal clothes. It makes perfect sense for Frontier to look at this room a European lense though so some things will be a little different for us Americans 😅

@BeyondDrewTV Yeah. Another thing that'd be a cultureshock to Americans like you about our waterparks is that the changing rooms and showers are all public. Gendered of course but once in there everyone is naked and everyone is naked under the showers. Washing the private parts is mandatory for hygiene so having bathing suits in the way of them doesn't work out. Some places have secluded showers with a curtain for those too shy to be naked in the in the crowd in there but it's generally the exception rather than the norm.

Dont forget we want stairs to get out of our pools. Stairs are used way more in water parks then the beach ramps. BTW no one is allowed a TOWEL in your park. I feel like for now we can fake the beach entry ramps with basic shapes in the shallow pools.

I actually thought about this as well and originally the park had very little trees. Then, when looking at reference photos and Google maps, I noticed that a good amount of water parks have a lot of trees near pools and slides which was odd to me. But hey, if they do it, so will I lol

Interesting! I would normally see people have their bathing suits on underneath normal clothes and take them off when they got to the park, no need for a changing room. Maybe another solution to the potential gameplay problem is having a Large Changing Room to accommodate many more guests at a time

Hearing that there's only a 6k hard guest cap saddens me. In the first, I can set the hard guest cap to whatever I want. I routinely set it to 10k because that's what my rig can handle. Is it not changeable in Planet Coaster 2? Not even in the settings menu where it is in the first game? That said, the park looks great so far. I do still wanna get the game. Maybe the holidays? Fingers crossed.

What is your pc spec and did you run into any performance issues with guest numbers?

I have a AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core. I have encountered a few stutters mainly when the park opens and closes and there's a huge influx of guests coming in. Other than that it's been smooth sailing! Guest count is capped at 6k this time around unfortunately as well.

One thing I hope Planet Coaster 2 improves is the steam workshop. It's incredibly annoying finding a cool park in the workshop and then waiting like 20 minutes because the stupid game is missing the "tool kits" or whatever... Like dude, it could've downloaded that crap from the beginning! Planet Coaster's workshop is quite buggy and janky, it needs a major rework as well aside from some other stuff. I hope they improve that aspect when requiring "theme tool kits" and unnecessarily long load times.

Yeah it is so odd having slides be so blatantly on rails, RCT3 Soaked slides, a game released almost 20 years ago, looked better because they actually had physics. Especially strange because apparently they removed the physics from other water rides like the rapids as well. And flat bottom slides for the slides with rafts are just so strange

they probably (hopefully) will fix them just not before or right after launch, the game in itself has a good number of glitches that will need to get patched out before they do any game changing changes, frontier has changed core game features before so i expect it to change partially in a few months

What's even stranger is that when test dummies fall off slides, physics is seemingly on. But as we can see, guests are not using the same physics. Hopefully there's a patch coming down the road.
