I Built a Lake Ecosystem on My Desk

In this video, I built a fully functional lake ecosystem on my desk. I filled the tank up with the coolest species I could find, starting with plants, and eventually getting to shrimp, snails, fish, and even more… Not only did I document the process of building it, but also the daily lifestyle of every creature living inside and how they survive. Watch to the end to see how it finished off!

Thanks for watching! Quick correction from the video: those fish are not neon tetras but glofish, I’m not sure how I got that mixed up. I hope you enjoyed, and let me know if you have any other video ideas!

We got adequate tank sizes, live plants, cycling before putting fish in, and good stocking, AND it’s the 3rd video they have made, you are well on your way to being a professional, well done my friend well done (Congrats on blowing up 🏅)

Loaches should be held in minimum schools of 8 (Glofish as they're tetras and danios in even bigger schools)... live plants do nothing but remove nitrates they have nothing to do with fishkeeping just makes you have to do fewer water changes... tanins are extremely beneficial for aquatic animals... blood worms have absolutely no nutritional value for any living being other than some iron and protein... and the tank definitely wasn't cycled enough as the lotus plant wasn't growing and after 2 weeks you definitely see some big sprouts from the bulbs... other than the tank being of a decent size this is terrible

Just so you know. Yo-Yo loaches can get pretty big, around 3-6 inches as adults. I’d recommend nothing smaller than a 40 gallon for them to be happy. Though the fact you mixed up glo fish with neons made my day. Though I hope you the best of success!
