Great video. I've been interested in doing this but all the other tutorials are so intimidating and condescending. You made it look easy so i guess its "avengers assemble time". can you share how you chose your switches, pcb, and all the other stuff?

Honestly wasn't as bad as I thought, just be meticulous nd you should be good- with regards to parts: - pick your form factor before everything else and work from there, mine was 75% as I need Fn keys for my work but numpad isnt essential (although i do love numpad :'-( ) - go for lowkey vendors or 3rd party vendors ie: I got my pcb on eBay and make sure you check compatibility codes, just cos two things say 75% might not mean they work well in tandem - kbd fans nd KRepublic good beginner friendly sites - dont buy all ur parts in one place, shop around and research ig!! -with switches u never know till u try, i think the more you get into it you'll learn what ur preference is, cause rn my ear isnt fine tuned enough to know what to look out for

honestly I was so excited to see one of my favorite content creators making a video about one of my favorite topics! as someone who has fallen quite far down the rabbit hole of mechanical keyboards, I really appreciated seeing you make mistakes and persevering! I hope you continue modifying your keeb. don't fall too far down the rabbit hole! it's a money pit lmao. I'm currently waiting on a board I've spent about $700 on (including keycaps, switches, and stabs). once you start trying different varieties of switches, your wallet is done for! cause then you gotta have one keeb that's got linears in it and one that's got tactiles in it. and of course you want to find your favorite switch of your favorite switch type. once you get into different switches it's all downhill from there. you start learning about the difference in sound profiles between different mounting styles and case materials and plate materials and different finishing techniques and different keycap materials. my wallet can't take much more of this torture lmfao jk

i just found ur channel and i enjoyed that vid a lot :D also as a person who has built 2 keyboards, i have some tips for u to make life easier: - if u build another keyboard try and find a hotswap pcb, so u just need to press the switches without soldering (and u dont have to take the whole thing apart just to fix one key) - (this one helped a lot when i was trying to get a good wpm on monkeytype) to restart the test just press tab + enter (not at the same time) this makes it so u can just restart the test without neeeding to move ur hand to the mouse and click the refresh button and then move it back to the keyboard. the keyboard sounded cool and i woudl defintiely watch if u did it again

So cool thanku n btw intentionally didnt choose hotswap bc i wanted to learn how to solder :1)
