This made me think a little community garden could be so cute
@questionablyrealzoo9 күн бұрын
I was kind of thinking, not necessarily a medicinal herbalist but a culinary one. I kind of look at the torchflowers and think about peppers because of the way the seeds look connected, like little dried bunches of chilis. (chiles? chillies? idk how it's spelled, i'm white.) I also like a chain, flower pot, and a fern for something like a mint or parsley that you can snip bits off to use fresh in food. and regular old vines on oak or acacia trapdoors look like a vine plant on a standing trellis, like string beans or peas. I like the idea of just a couple of those in individual house gardens or by an inn, as if they grow some of their own food rather than buying expensive spices in bulk.

12:28 Have you ever considered using tall and small grasses to transition into patches of less grown crops in fields? It would also be cool to see high spots with less growth because it gets less water (and might end up with dead bush blocks) and low spots that might be too wet for much growth. A low spot could even look like a little scar of mud on the low edge of a field or something (maybe with wither roses as crops that failed) Medieval farmers didn't have the big farming equipment to level a field like we can now, so sometimes best practice was to plant around what the land gave you until you could put the effort in to improve it.

I loooove this Addition to the outskirts of Path! The feel of the City in regard to lived-in-ness and realism is incredible. For the little market in the town center, how about instead of a stall you put a little wagon to the side where a traveling knife-sharpener and cutler has a little movable workstation? So he sells a few knives and tools but the people of the town can also come to him and he will sharpen their swords, knives, axes, etc.
