Anything that's not the main weapon was made on Shapr3D and was sent to PCBWay to be CNC'd or lazer cut. Hope that helps :)

What drive motors are you using ( are they geared down) You said brush less but didnt catch the numbers? I believe there are a number of different ones to pick from. I think the floors that I will be running on are going to be wood but Im also not sure where I will be all running at? I'm just started gathering info to start building my first bot! Its kind of like fight club and its hard to find out info to get started if you dont know where to look or who to talk to. The U tube builders like your self, Alex & Just Cuz are a big help and are a saving grace. Sorry one other question what radio do you use and how do you have it set up? I see 98% of the post covering the bot but not so much on the controllers? Im a 2 channel car guy so I'm pretty Blown way with a 4 or more channel receiver and how to get it all set up and working like you hope it should??? Many thanks to each of you for the long hours of editing videos and posting them to help build the community!!! I know personally it not a FUN job to do and most people have no clue what it takes..... Thanks again and look forward to many more posts and builds from Team Vector!!
@TeamVector4416 ай бұрын
Congratulations on starting your first bot! It's not easy to build your first bot so I'm making a video that covers a good majority of this, but as I'm getting ready for a tournament on the 19th it's on the backburner. The brushless motors are Repeat Robotics "Mini" 16mm Brushless Planetary Motor Mk3s, with 28.5:1 gearing, and can take up to 4s lipo batterys so they have a lot of power! But keep in mind you need to have 2 brushless reversible ESCs if you're planning on using them for driving. Or a dual brushless ES setup, the only one of those I found is from Repeat Robotics. That also involves channel mixing as well so keep that in mind! When it comes to finding out what the floors will be, if it isn't really stated on the post then try emailing the organizer! Usually, they respond pretty quickly and will be able to tell you! For the radio setup, I use a modified Radiolink RC4GS V3 5 Channel, so Vector drives almost exactly like an RC car, so that radio might help you since you're coming from that! And for the mixing part @TeamPanicRobotics put out a video on how to mix channels easily on the most common transmitter the Flysky Fs-i6, and no joke I applied almost the same settings to my transmitter and it works perfectly. And thank you so much, I actually love making these videos, the editing is hard but I like it lol. If you have any more questions just let me know, it helps me out cause I can integrate them into future videos for everyone!

The meta seems to be spinning weapons and the counters to them agility and or armour. Has anyone tried using kevlar webbing to entangle their weapon like "The Grappler" does for stopping moving cars?
@TeamVector4416 ай бұрын
That's a great Idea! But unfortunately very illegal in combat robotics, entanglement devices, liquid, emp or anything other than sheer blunt force is simply not allowed unfortunately. I believe they made entanglement illegal specifically in the 90s during the comedy central era of battlebots. But I could be wrong on that. The only way entanglement is allowed is when something that was never designed to be an entanglement device entangles your weapon. Like say you rip off an opponents wheel and it gets stuck in your main weapon, that's allowed but it cant be intentional. Alex Alchemy driver of cheesecake has a great video on it when it actually happens to him in a fight vs Temper. Feel free to check that out! kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2jOaaKXl9pljbc

Nicely done! I like the vector theme and the bot looks powerfull! Small question: I was wondering how you got the repeat robotics ESC to work, because I use the same one and whenever I use it, it smokes up as soon as it makes contact with the battery. (This happened twice)
@TeamVector4416 ай бұрын
Interesting! I would say that you have to make sure that your connectors are set up correctly, if your running a larger than 4s Battery than the capacitor is needed to run the esc. Whenever I use it I only run 4s with no capacitor and ensuring that your + and - are NOT CROSSED! I have burned up drone ESCs like that and it is not fun, also be sure to check that their is no solder debris accidently connecting something on the board. I once had a drone board which I thought was fine until I plugged it in, and it burned up instantly. Took a closer look and found that a tiny piece of solder was connecting one of the capacitors to something that WAS NOT A CAPACITOR! Its also possible if any of the settings have been touched that something went wrong their. I haven't touched the settings and its working great so far. At least I don't know how to change the settings that is lol Let me know if this helps!
@ThatRandomRodent_6 ай бұрын
@@TeamVector441 Thank you so much. I will try that. I also didn’t soder the motors to the esc yet so that may be why. Finnaly, I am in your position at the begining of the video, and I am wondering how you connect the battery to the switch.
@TeamVector4416 ай бұрын
Yeah no problem lol, The battery switch is a fingertech mini power switch. It is just a screw that connects two wires together when you screw it in. I have it set up on my positive cable, literally I took the positive cable (not the one on the actual battery the one on the positive terminal of the esc) cut it in half, tined it and connected each end to each side of the switch. And it acts as the kill/power switch for the whole thing.👍

one question why didnt u choose biteforce battlebot weapon instead of this any reason behind it and which one would be good yours or biteforce one
@TeamVector441Ай бұрын
I chose this weapon config because I wanted to make a weapon that was as wide as possible but with as much hitting force I could put into it. Biteforces weapon is very condensed into one place, while vectors weapon is wide and can hit anywhere along the drum. So I would be really interested in finding out which one would win!

Hi. I was wondering what motor you used could you send me the link?

For the main weapon I use this: www.racedayquads.com/products/t-motor-f2004-3000kv-micro-motor-1-5mm-shaft?keyword=3000kv A word of caution though, after about 1-2.5 seconds even at half speed this thing will start to ignite the atmosphere because of how hot it gets. You must have proper thermal management when using it and make sure that you have some type of heatsink or air going over it to keep it cool cause it can burn out QUICK if it doesn't.
