Is it possible for someone who's never made a game before to learn Unity and build a VR game in 24 Hours? My mate Clay's song you hear at the end: gyro.to/79912FindMyWay / • Clayton Francis - Find...

For everybody who wants to learn how to gamedev I'm trying to be one. And let me tell you that the easiest game developing software for beginners is godot. There's many tutorials on how to master godot, once you mastered godot you should try and make a game and publish it for the public. Also try and master other game engines like unreal engine or unity.

I made a game in less than 1 hour, with 0 experience, without knowing how to read, write, or program, and without ever having touched a computer in my life. By being drunk. And all this, on a laptop, and having to run, because there was a bear running after me, while I was creating the game.

Prefab in unity means like a game object that can be used multiple time. We don't use normal game objects because they are not optimised enough. So, prefabs are just a game object to use multiple times
@Kooczsi2 ай бұрын
bad explanation. what he said was more accurate than your explanation. you can think of a prefab like a zip file, and a normal gameObject as a folder zip file (prefab) is more optimized, folder (gameObject) is more easily changable

@robomobius2 ай бұрын
I've already commented on several things, and you probably already know this, but a prefab is when you convert a gameobject from the scene to a reusable asset with all its properties and hierarchy. You can import these or make them by right-clicking in the hierarchy or by dragging a gameobject into the asset browser.

Great video bro! My wacky idea cuz I'm bored: I think that you should do another 24h, and you should turn to the goals into portal of the cube colours. Maybe have like 3 portals, so you are required to turn around more. You should also add bombs that occasionally spawn instead of cubes, you have to catch them and diffuse them before they explode and reset your score. If you accidentally throw it in a portal, the portal breaks for 7.5s, meaning you may have to hold many cubes at once and it becomes tricky. With a new cube spawning every 2.5s! 🎉😊

I dare you to make a skibidi toilet vr game. It would be so cool being a soldier in the heat of battle getting cool upgrades over time. The reason why I chose skibidi toilet is because of how it won't make you feel like you are an actual soldier and you can relax. Another reason is that there is a ton to expand on

I am truly fascinated by talents that take on challenges bordering on the impossible, and it makes me smile when I perceive that healthy enthusiasm in seeing people admire the work done even if they are just starting out. One thing I would like to clarify, though, is that while it's true that it's possible to put some assets into a game engine and create a minimum level of interaction with motion controllers, the result is far from what could be a true VR video game. I don't want to belittle the efforts and inspiration that this type of content can provide, but it would certainly be better to also explain that to create a complete game, years of work, significant financial investment, and the talent of many people are necessary. Giving the idea that it's feasible to create a video game in 24 hours would seem like saying that those who work in this industry are frauds, that it's not true that years of work and many resources are needed to bring a project to fruition... as if all it takes is 24 hours and a notebook... It's not the first video where titles claim "I create a VR game in 1 hour, 10 hours, or 24 hours"... it's a nice example of style to say that nowadays tools are available to everyone, but it's certainly not true that a map with some randomly placed assets constitutes a game. Forgive my frankness, and in any case, I embrace you and look forward to a new video with something more concrete, perhaps not in 24 hours ;)
