Dude spends a good amount of time building something pretty decent that could last a while at least, then builds it on top of untreated logs sitting on the bare dirt. Just the weight of the structure sank that out of level before he was done, and will rot collapsing the whole thing in a couple years.
@frontierfrenchie261524 күн бұрын
Amazing he had that much money available to waste on the lumber for it to be completely unstable for the supports. A strong winter wind is going to send this right to the bottom of the hill.

Maybe the longevity is the point. He builds alot of them.Takes from the forest knowing that the forest will reclaim it eventually I know he has fixed other builds by other builders that he has come across that have started to be reclaimed.

Enjoyed watching, is there a reason you don't stagger the joints on the floor and roof?
@bmkrocky4 күн бұрын
staggering the floor board joints would make the floor stronger
@simonefavilli15 күн бұрын
I think the insulation is not enough (those sheets with aluminum are more suitable for heat than cold), and the stove placed next to the wall with the plastic sheets gives off too much heat, I would put it in the center of the long wall. by the way it is a great job and I like the use of simple but effective materials.
@colinbrown731021 күн бұрын
Those foundations looked a bit hasty!
@jasonjohnson634419 күн бұрын
Should have put a good base of gravel under the foundation posts. Or burned the bottom foot or so. Or both. Some wood is more resistant to rot but I don’t know what you used here. For just hand tools, very nice results.

Мне домик понравился) НО, два вопроса: при таком качестве строительства почему-то мало внимания уделено фундаменту, был же рубероид) И второе - гирлянда есть, а света мало. В конце видео это было заметно.

I am concerned about the lack of foundation as well.
@jethropebs11 күн бұрын
This is purely for clicks. I'll give the builder props for not using power tools as he did a TON of work. However, the structure will not last considering how the foundation poles were set (too shallow and not in cement), and the framing for the flooring isn't pressure treated, so there's nothing stopping mildew and moisture from wicking up into the sub-frame. Lastly, nails dude? Seriously?

This has got to be the worst construction techniques I've ever seen. The footings will not last a year. Termites in two months. A strong wind will blow it over. Wow what a mess. Take some lessons from a trade school or at least watch some construction videos. Good luck you will need it.
