Keen to join the overhead attack club! (Once I get this thing underweight again)
@GagePulkrabek2 ай бұрын
you may be able to get away with getting a mini wedge on the rear of the bot which would also favor you to fall to one side
@engineered_cha0s2 ай бұрын
I did consider that but kind of wanted to stick with the simplicity of the "big stick" mentality especially for a first robot. It let me put all my weight into weapon and gives me a simple gameplan for each fight rather than being overloaded with options. I've definitely since considered (and hastily tried) a rear wedge but I think I'll need more modularity in general as it would be good to maybe have a lighter weapon with options for overhead armour or a wedge

great video. Would recommend a 100hz high pass filter in the video editor. there is a huge amount of low frequency background noise.
@engineered_cha0s16 күн бұрын
Cheers, I'll have to look into that

Could it possibly be related to the colour space of my phone not being corrected by the editor? It took me a few videos to get that right
@LukeQuin16 күн бұрын
@@engineered_cha0s The video looks fine. just the audio where you're talking. The mic is picking up low frequency background road noise or something. It might not be very obvious unless you have some good headphones or a subwoofer, but the bass in the audio is unnecessary when just talking because a human man usually only talks as low as 90hz or so. so anything below 90hz audio range should be removed.
@engineered_cha0s16 күн бұрын
Ah right ok, that'd be because I was recording in my backyard there's cars and birds in the background 😅 the most recent video's audio was on a proper mic inside so should be better

Thank you for sharing your journey through this. Dont take this the wrong way, but Jame's videos show us how a genius approaches a design and build. And not that you are not a genius as well, but you are a bit closer to my intelligence level when it comes to bots 😂. Tell James I said "algorithm".

Do you have an accelerometer installed to reverse the controls depending on weather it's upside down? It might be a little be of a pain to integrate but it'd pay off in simplicity of control.
@engineered_cha0s2 ай бұрын
@@5eurosenelsuelo nope, just practiced driving both ways (: my new iteration uses an all-in-one board from llamaforge that serves as a reciever and drive escs which lets me assign a switch to flick to invert controls. Being able to drive upside down is still a useful skill though
@paulie2burgers9762 ай бұрын
Most people just learn to drive inverted. It's really easy after a little practice.

Thanks! The logo is a part I made from a previous project. I was trying to design a 3d printable bistable auxetic material (Steve mould had a good video on it).
