hi, I am absolutely impressed by your Channel and the Stallion is exactly what will be my next project. Could you please upload the final design of the DJI Air Unit mount to thingiverse? That would be really very nice of you

@@Webprof68 thank you so much 🙏 I will provide links in the next video in 1-2 days. You’ll love the project!

Sweet!! Been waiting to finish my stallion until this video dropped with the FC mount!! Thanks much!
@bscholer6 күн бұрын
Any chance you could upload the STEP file for the mount? I have different ESCs, and used the angled servo pins, so it would be great to be able to remix it :)
@alfdriss3 күн бұрын
My advice is to shield with copper foil & connect to ground the cables from the FC to the GPS to avoid any interferences with the ESC power cables.
@pathfinder.george2 күн бұрын
Thank you for the advice. Would aluminum foil work as well?

its nice to see a drone with mounting for its components. Many makers will just leave the components free to move around and I find it annoying 😅
@pathfinder.george2 күн бұрын
Hehe, didn't know that was an option, especially for the IMU lol

Nice, I've been trying to follow your guide, nevertheless it is not clear all of the parts involved, could you please make a list with the items and the link to where u purchased or it is possible to purchase the electronics, I'm also kinda new to this and it is hard for me to understand the electronics since I'm a mech eng, lmao. I would appreciate it.
@pathfinder.george2 күн бұрын
I'll make sure to do that. Flightory's website includes some of the parts, but there's a lot of extra stuff needed indeed.

Good job! Am currently building one too. Am watching with great interest. Are you going to build a ground station next by chance?
@pathfinder.george7 күн бұрын
@@jreed1701d Thank you and good luck on your build!! I plan on doing a cloud-based built for BVLOS operations. Likely starting with 4g modules. No experience with ground stations.

1. Love your videos. It definitely will help me when i decide to build one too. 2. I belive that your tail motor sound different because you are using a central ESC for all of them, and he have longer wire from the source (ESC), therefore, more resistance and less efficient power delivery, im guessing but i belive due to that he receive 0.5 to 1.0 volt less then the others if measured at the motor side. That said i think this will be fine nevertheless.
@pathfinder.george7 күн бұрын
@@CASIOMAN20 Thanks bro! Building a stallion is a very fulfilling experience. Drop a comment when you start your build! Difference in sound could be that, it I bet it comes from the carbon tube resonating. Didn’t think about efficiency tho… I’ll make sure to shorten them from now on :) Cheers!

This design is made by Flightory (not affiliated). You can build one yourself.

About $1000 in parts and 80h in print time. I'll do a detailed breakdown in a future episode.

Could you make a video with INAV?
@pathfinder.george7 күн бұрын
I only used iNav to flash the ArduPlane firmware on my Flight Controller. As far as I'm aware ArduPilot is better than iNav for autonomous missions. As for the flashing, it's quite straightforward - refer to ArduPilot's docs.

Did you customize the Mission Planner Software?
@pathfinder.george7 күн бұрын
Not yet, but I do plan on coding a natural language mission planning add-on. "Scan X objective at Y coordinates." to generate necessary waypoints.
@dronepilotlar40427 күн бұрын
Hello, great work. Can you share the Arduplane Config file?
@pathfinder.george7 күн бұрын
I would, but not sure that's a good idea tbh. It contains my battery specs, prop sizes, etc. Simply following flightory's Manual should yield better results.
@CineZoneYT7 күн бұрын
So do you only need one ESC or do you need three since you have three motors?
@pathfinder.george7 күн бұрын
You either have 3 individual ESCs or you use a 4 in 1 ESC, like I did. Not sure about pros and cons. Just make sure that the ESC's AMP rating is slightly higher than the motor's max amp draw at your voltage (6s/22v in my case).

I got a message today from flightory that they just redesigned the nose cone
@pathfinder.george7 күн бұрын
@@BrianSmith-yq7ys Would love to see that. I made a custom nose (based on the same shape) with cooling cutouts and O3 sizing. Will upload with next weeks video. I would however love to see flightory’s design and hopefully it’s a gimbal variant. The dude that designs them is a beast.
