I Built an Elite Controller for $80 (StrikePack Paddles, Trigger Stops, Magnetic Sticks)

It's been delayed for quite some time, but I finally got around to finishing this one. I finally built my own custom controller, and while it isn't perfect, its definitely a start. I'd love to hear suggestions, notes, and thoughts down in the comment section, I do plan on doing more of these in the future. Hiya! I've done two of these mods on my stock Xbox One Controller, and personally, they've been great! The Quikshots have been pretty solid for me so far. Not as good as actual button, but pretty nice to getting just a slightly faster actuation. The Strike Pack Eliminator has been pretty effective for me to either mapping a second jump button and program a shortcut. I just got Kontrol Freaks for the first time yesterday, and while I'm not sure about the accuracy yet, I definitely do like the feel of them. I actually done a very similar video to this one, but I use my controller pro-dominantly for Devil May Cry and character action games rather than FPS. Nonetheless, still cool of you to show a video of modding something you already to get your feet wet for a more "pro" controller experience!

I was looking for an upgrade from the basic xbox one controller , I decided to get control freaks stick extenders and a nice thick silicone skin for the controller. I still havent tried paddles but I needed to be able to maneuver better when I'm sweating in COD lol I ended up just remapping jump and crouch to left and right bumper now I can run and jump slide cancel and shoot at the same time without taking my fingers off aim stick . Solved my need for paddles and greatly improved my game

I've done this to about 6 controllers now (and sold 4). It's pretty damn good. I also took your advice, Cuda, and gave the Wolverine(s) a shot. They feel great, but my Shrek like fingers weren't cooperating with the secondary bumpers. So, I didn't want to keep them.

If you heat up the warranty sticker with a blow dryer, you can peel it and put it back just fine.

You don't actually have to heat it at all. Just pick at a corner and peel it back, yes, the sticker will try to reset itself, but have a set of needle-nose plyers or tweezers ready.

I built one of these like 5 months ago, it broke in 2 months, and then I switched to the razer wolverine ultimate. Now after a while I wish I’d just got a ps4 instead of Xbox and learned how to play claw. The razer wolverine ultimate is still working for me, and it’s a great controller, just expensive

And to be honest playing claw is so uncomfortable and it really wears out your hands and fingers, pretty much you have a way higher chance of getting arthritis and crap when/as you get older. But if you don’t give a shit go for it lol. You’re better off using one with paddles where your fingers rest naturally on the back of the controller. I can say from my experience that it’s very comfortable especially the eliminator.

Seen it done before with the strike pack and the process is nearly the exact same. Slight differences are, trigger stops for ps4 suck, and you have to dremel a bit of the shell to fit xbox dpad.

Official controllers have unreliable bumpers, the sticks get loose quickly and usb ports get messed up easily. Better value to go for the PowerA Spectra, Fusion Pro or Razer Wolverine TE than to mod an official controller (MS controller can be sold if good working condition).

Striker pack works on the next gen consol it just doesn’t fit the controller. You’ll need to use a Xbox one controller if you want it to fit. Yes The Xbox one controller is compatible with the new Xbox.

Them trigger stops don't last. I wish they would. I bought many pairs at Menards. Plus the rubber puts out a smell after a couple month's. I love my Elite Series 2. I'm on my second one. My first one had stick drift the first week. My second one after warranty over a year old now is still perfect with about 4 to 5 hours of gaming a day. Mostly shooter's.
