@foxbayard17274 ай бұрын
I liked your take on the War of 1812. My uncle fought in Iraq, my great grandfather fought on Guadalcanal in WWII and also fought the Korean War, my great great grandfather and his father fought in the same regiment in WWI, they were all Marines. One of my ancestors fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War, but died in 1862 and my older ancestor fought for the Spanish to help secure victory for the colonials in the American Revolution. On my dad's side, his father fought in South Korea but not during the war itself and my dad's uncle on his mother's side fought as a Marine in the Korean War, he was a radio transmitter who ran through the forest to inform other troops about incoming attacks. Lastly, my brother plans on joining the Marines and my mom's dad spent the first few years of his life in a military base in Panama, where his dad, the one in Guadalcanal, was stationed at.

One correction on the American Revolution; yes gorilla warfare was a strategy the some American forces used against the Redcoats, but for the most part battle was conducted in line formations just like the British.

I like how the British won the War of 1812 but since no one knew about the treaty yet, the Americans won an extra battle.

Quick correction, the Generation that fought in World War 1 is actually known as the Lost Generation as the Silent Generation is the name of the Generation that lived through the Great Depression & World War 2. The Silent Generation actually didn't really fight in many wars aside from the Korean War and a few of the later births of the Silent Generation would go on to fight in the Vietnam War.

Line infantry wasn't outdated by 1776.. like.. at all. It was still common by the 1870s. Also by 1812, the british army was using grey pants and shako hats. And by the time the US joined ww1, the german army was using the m15 uniforms and m16 stahlhelm.

I find the Vietnam war interesting because it’s strange how a small group of farmers with ak’s were able to defeat a superpower
@D00M3DSO7L3 ай бұрын
It was actually north Vietnam, a communist party that was aided by China or something, I'm not 100% sure. The Viet Cong were a major enemy the US fought, and the use of guerrilla warfare and traps demoralized the US troops. (I'm not 100% sure tho lol)
