You need a frame that sits on top of the case with a mesh and that blanket so that the cats can be up there but the air can still escape. It just needs an inch of clearance.

I bought the Thermaltake View 71 case just so my cats can sit on it and still have good airflow. The glass top lets hot air escape and the cats doesn't block the top fans. And the power button isn't easy for them to turn it off when they're on top of it.

I have the exact same case for the exact same reason. My cats name is Righty and I even made a sign for him above the case that says Righty's Roost. He sits with my while I game.

Yes, that makes more sense. As does the Phanteks Evolv X, where the vents are on the side of the top cover. But since the top cover is made of aluminum, it heats up rather handily.

Kyle, the top panel of the O11D is quite restrictive, remove it and put a 4-post, permeated standoff platform on top of the PC, then the rug on top. Maybe leave a 1" gap so the sides will have warm air flow up and around the cats, smaller rug to fit the platform. Noctua A12x25 set to acceptable fan noise levels, all intake into the PC except the top exhaust. You'll have 6x intake and 3x exhaust, concerntrating all the warm air into the platform+rug+cat. You can also run 2 GPUs for more warms. I'll remove CPU as folding. Next level you can go full custom loop with 360x60t rad push with noctua ppc, concerntrate 2xGPU and 1xCPU heat into the 360 rad exhaust, coupled with 6x intakes fan within the PC of course. Might be too hot haha

i had the exact same idea last month when i was home for winter break. my feet get cold at my desk at home because there isn't carpet and my parents don't like running the heat where i like it. i looked around and i had a 360mm aio laying around from an old build only problem it had only am3 mounting for it. i was able to fine the am3 mobo and cpu i used it with but the cpu i had was an 8320e. and when i looked up how much a fx-9590 was i was surprised how expensive they were. so i decided to just suck it up for a month.

Wow 18°c at night, that's what I keep my home at all the time and I'm in Scotland - it's currently -4°c and I'm perfectly comfortable :) My, kitty, unfortunately passed recently, but he was perfectly happy and was far from cold......it's what fur is for.

It's nice that the fans bring heat but the constant airflow might also be dehydrating. The pet dryer is designed to......get rid of water. Hydration may be a problem for some cats. If you must do a PC heater you could make a fanless setup. Make sure they get plenty of fluids 🙀

I know this place. My Be Quiet 802 has been the sleeping place for one of my two cats for more than a year now. After a very hot summer last year, the fur on her stomach was so thin and overdried we just couldn't believe it. All because of she used to spend long hours on top of my PC case - even in absurd heat outside - and I have a 360mm AIO radiator mounted on top. xD

Beautiful build. Folding FTW! One thing I would do is put a small stand that the blanket can rest of on top of the PC, so that way there is at least a little bit of separation for the fans to "breathe." The heat will still hit the bottom of the stand and warm up the blanket, but this way the PC won't run into any issues too. What do you think?

It was better to use an Air Cooler, taking advantage of the rear exhaust! :D With this AIO the top exhaust will always be covered up by the blanket! But..cats..that's what we do for them

I had a large ROG ASUS laptop that vented its hot air out the back and the cat loved to sleep behind it in the winter time. The trouble was that when she was awake, she’d love to chew on the power cable or anything that happened to be plugged into any USB port. It’s like the cat’s attitude was, “I love you for letting me warm myself, so let me show my appreciation to you by chewing on your tasty laptop.” Don’t you just love cat logic!

My cat loved to lay on my O11D so much so that my computer would actually crash due to her blocking the vent, lol. Had top put a wire organizer thing on it so that she could still lay down and get the heat while my computer could exhaust the air fully

Make the side fans the exhaust and the top and bottom as intakes, All the hot air will come out the side and you can place their bed in front of the side vent.

Perhaps put a cake airing tray under the blanket? The hot air can heat the blanket but also escape from under it as well. IMPORTANT: Completely covering the top of the PC to allow heat build up could make this a fire hazard. Make sure the blanket has flame retardants in them to prevent a house fire.

Hey, Bitwit I'll suggest you to get a spool of white thread that is close in color to your rug and Lian li case and is also a bit elastic/stretchable and do one or two rap around on the top of the case over the rug and strapping it to the case fit, like a tent to the ground with stings and support beams.
