We all know it's not a fake watch in that sense. It's fake as in it's imitating a customized Rolex milgauss. Replica/counterfeit/knock off whatever. No need to mince words, just call it for what it is and isn't. He acknowledged it as well, so what's there to argue? We also know it's hand assembled so that makes it more special.

I can promise you every watchmaker and watch enthousiast will enjoy this video. Watches are a work or art, but the most important thing is how the watch makes you feel. 5 years from now you'll look at this watch and it will remind you of all the great memories you've made along the way with this watch on your wrist. The fact that you've put it together yourself is already a great memory in itself.

Great build, really incredible what you can do for £100-£200! Really very little material difference between these SeikoMod builds and watches 10-20x the retail price; I’ve built a few myself. BTW. If it is gen NH movement I think it IS made by SEIKO for resale/use by 3rd party manufacturers. Too lazy to check if they are made under license but I somehow doubt it.

Just FYI you don't stop advancing the time when the date wheel STARTS rotating, you're supposed to stop advancing once the date wheel snaps into the next position, the date wheel starts to rotate around the 11pm position, not really a big deal, it just means that the date on your watch isn't going to snap into the proper date until about 1am but most people are asleep around that time and wouldn't be awake to notice.. just noticed you realized and fixed it😅 either way I have no doubt you will enjoy this watch, its your first build and will always hold sentimental value, beautiful build

I just got into watch making around a year and a half ago when my dad got me into it. One tip I have for you, either purchase a handheld 30-40x magnifier or get an eye loupe. It make hand setting significantly easier. You can see exactly how far you need to go when hand setting. Great job though on your first watch!

Thats not a fake nh35. They are pretty inexpensive to begin with. Typically you will see fake eta 2824 and eta 2892 movements coming out of China. The Seiko and Miyota movements are always authentic. They buy in bulk and get them for dirt cheap. Cool build. I had my eye on that dial on aliexpress myself. 😂

Looks like a legit NH35 to me. Just some advice, try to never change the date between 9pm and 3am. That is when the gears are beginning to engage/mesh to flip the date wheel across and changing the date during this time may risk breaking the gears and thus never changing the date.

In case you want feedback: - Instead of super glue you use Loctite. Loctite is released by heating it up. This way you can make the crown serviceable without losing the stem. Loctite is applied into the crown btw, not on the stem, otherwise it will shove out of the way when screwing on. - for releasing the stem, whilst the dial and hands are installed, you could use a rubber movement holder. it doesn't touch the hands, keeps the dial intact but holds it firm, steady and flat, but well done by you on the cusion. I don't have problems with copying rolex looking parts, but to copy a designers work is a bit of a nono for me, but everyone has his own boundaries :) I enjoyed your excitement very much.
