May I ask you, what is the average cost to restore a watch like the one you have it in that video? Thank you
@fw14217 сағат бұрын
This had to cost a lot more than $1000 to restore with all those new parts. Beautiful job.
@davidbolduc828Сағат бұрын
Yeah I was thinking a minimum of $500 at wholesale prices for the replacement parts and then lots of expertise and time to restore. Still it's a worthy challenge for a skilled watchmaker.

unfortunately the medallion add considerable to the value of the watch.

I agree. It's unfortunate that RDR couldn't source an original caseback with the medallion.

I've been a subscriber for a while now, your workmanship is truly exquisite. Can you restore a Seiko that belonged to my late father? It doesn't run anymore

This has been amazing restoration project.I remember when I was in my teens I worked at an auction house and next door was a watch repair shop.The name of the man was Ken Shapelle not sure if I spelled his surname right.The watch repair shop was in Otago lane Glasgow I used to pop in and was amazed at the tiny cogs and screws.He used to work on museum pieces.I loved looking at all the pocket watches and looking inside and see all the engravings and jewels.thanks again all the best and have a great Christmas and new year 🤩❤️👍

I love how most people don't quite realize the difference of a Grand Seiko and a regular Seiko. When I wear mine I often get "oh wow that's really pretty for a Seiko" and I am always like "Thanks! :)"
@PSUK10 сағат бұрын
Nice one mate! I’ve got an NH35 movement in a dive watch. It’s seen 1500+ dives and has never let me down. Wear it as an every day watch too. Returns approx +10 seconds per day. I cannot fault it.

I am very glad to see Seiko! Great watch, excellent work!!! With a transparent lid, it's a good option, you can see a beautiful, solid mechanism, but I would leave the factory lid, it's also cute and informative, and instead of a medallion, you could eventually come up with something. Now I'm waiting for a video about the repair of vintage Orient! 👍👋

Love the restoration! Thank you so much for sharing this with us. If you know anyone that might work on an Omega MegaQuartz, let me know. STS cannot get parts for it. It runs but just needs a really good cleaning, touch up on the crystal (2 big scratches), and the hands re-lumed.
