@@Zakading There is no such thing as Knight Titans - it's like saying Astartes Custodes. It was some idiot on the internet about a decade ago(ish) who thought it sounded cool and unfortunately, it spread from there. But go back to Adeptus Titanicus in the early 90's when Knights and Titans were first created, they were two separate but oft allied forces and have been ever since.

@@Zakading Do you have a link to a photo for that? I've never seen any packaging referring to them as Knight Titans. They did use the same generic blister card backing as Titans for a while (which had a picture of a Reaver and just said Titans on it), but the label still referred to them by their Knight names, i.e. Paladin, Warden etc, and all the lore at the time differentiated them from Titans.

I managed to get one of these today, and I must say the piston-y bits are very well designed, wasn't sure how well it would translate from the resin models to this, but can comfortably say, they aren't a pain - in fact the model itself is a time consuming build but a satisfying one, very happy with how the build worked out - took about 2.5 hours - and I tend to build quite fast.

There are so many great bits to be found online, small armor plates for toes, larger for the sides and fronts of legs, extra leg extensions, not just longer but also an extra joint either way you want it, with their own fitting armor plates, torso extensions, shield, weapons, armor for arms, different heads and complete top armor plates that move the head to another location, ammo belts, new reactors and exhausts, so many awesome stuff, especially if you have a resin 3D printer yourself. If i could afford it i would go absolutely nuts with that.

I see what you were going for with the trench. I half want to do the same thing, but have the knight striding over a much narrower trench and have some regular troops in the trench cheering. A while ago I actually wrote a short bit of fiction with this very scene: Knights defending a manufacturing plant, sallying across the perimeter trenches(manned by regular troops and foot retainers and lesser knights) to attack into the teeth of an enemy assault(under the cover of a bombardment of smoke shells) to wreck some mechanised heretics in close quarters. It was to counter the enemy tactic of advancing with chimeras and armigers to flush the imperial knights out with russes on overwatch, and knights in reserve. My logic is that a tank squadron concentrating fire is going to knock down knight after knight. By employing tactical smoke the knights and russes were cut off from supporting the lighter units, the chimera borne troops were left to blunder confused through the smoke, the crews having much less chance of success in the sudden and brief encounters with the enemy in the thick smoke, it was an environment that favored a fully integrated, piloted warsuit and of course the powerful weapons mounted on said warsuits, the chaos armigers left isolated in pockets to face loyalist armigers(yeah no 'war dawgs' this story predates chaos knights kit by like 5 years) working in groups alongside their knights, so despite being unbelieably hardy the chaos armigers really lost out. The chaos knights did reach the melee, but often had to contend with having to face a loyalist knight head on, and it's armigers coming around the sides, fighting as a single unit, so despite their disgusting resilience they did not fare well(having your legs cut out from behind you will knock you on you're ass, and from there they will just dismantle you).

First of all, amazing job, leagues better than anything i could do. One thing that slightly bothered me when it came to the reveal was that the duck boards underneath where the right foot would have been were too intact. Maybe could have had them splintered up a bit/ crushed/ pushed into the ground? Currently it feels like some 2x4 got rolled over by a tank but actually looks like its fresh off the shelf.

Tamiya thin isn't really meant for painting over areas like that, you're meant to hold the joins together then touch the brush to the thin gap and let it wick in. If you need to splosh it over a large area get the thick one or the Revell one with the needle applicator.

I find your narration to be just the right mix of engaging and soothing to have in the background while I do other tasks; I find I often learn about some technique I want to give a try on my own figures; and of course, your final results are just pleasant to see. But god *damn* are your figures expensive at the end of the day! I'm sure that you get a lot of product supplied to you in exchange for featuring it here, so I expect there's practical limits on what you can do - but I'd personally enjoy an exploration of how to take more budget friendly models like, say, historical armoured vehicle kits or even dollar store toys, and and tweaking them to look like they belong on a 40K battlefield. Preferably in a way that doesn't assume the builder has a huge stash of leftover bits from years of building official models. :)
