That's really awesome. I encounter far more people who are disappointed with the speed editor than those who are happy with it. Between this and the iPad case, you are doing some really impressive stuff.

I was also very shocked when browsing the DaVinci Resolve forums, which are filled with people who hate that there's no customization on these devices. Glad you enjoyed the videos, thank you! :)

I can understand that some people are disappointed by the lack of features like key remapping with the speed editor keyboard, but keep in mind a few things: Blackmagic give access to a fully functional video editing/color grading software for free so they have to make money somewhere and beside the studio version of davinci resolve (which is sold at a very competitive price with lifetime-ish updates, regarding adobe and others software editor pricing plans) the hardware is one of their main source of revenue. Given the fact that the speed editor is the entry level of Blackmagic keyboards, and that is was basically free when it was launched (via the combo pack 1 resolve studio licence = 1 speed editor for free) I can totally see why they would not implement features that would make less attractive their high end editing keyboards. Now it has been launched few years ago and maybe we could expect more customizability for this device, nevertheless it is still very useful and usable in my opinion. I’m curious about the keys implantations on the PCB and how they are connected to the board chip I/O, Maybe is it not that hard to create a custom PCB that connect to the chip I/O by your layout of choice. With the growing success of mechanical keyboards kits it might not be difficult to buy keycaps and switches to do that.

Came across your videos last night just by chance and got to say your video production and ingenuity are insane. I’m a photographer and the 3D printed iPad case with SD’s is a game changer 🤙🏼

Not only a super cool, creative project, but I feel like you hit a really good balance in this video of sharper, cleaner shots vs the softer dreamier ones.

Thanks Ian! indeed I ditched the Mist filter for certain shots, I think certain things are too sharp right now so ill definitely try to invest in a black satin filter pretty soon :)

Sick stuff right there my man. You make it look SO easy! The CAD design, the considerations, everything really looks neat. I think I imagined you making like a custom keyboard plate so you could eventually remap everything on the main switch board. ( Also props for the video and editing. everything's *Chef's kiss* )

Ooo fortunately this comment isnt deleted :) i don't know why that would be happening :/ im glad you enjoyed it, i currently use a motion control system from edelkrone, I have a video on my channel about the ( ultimate B -roll stand ) which showcases the setup I use in more details. its just moving by itself so that's quite nice but it sometimes does glitch out which is why I'm searching for a different system at the moment :)
