Ryan was not only a part of peoples childhoods, but his formula and structuring of his original videos, alongside Yogscast and Smosh, literally laid the foundation for entertainment and gaming videos. His skits and writing style is visible from Liza Koshy to Pewdiepie. The smooth transitions and comedic realism is what took youtube to its heights as an entertainment platform. Besides the corporatization of KZbin (which no one but Yotube can really adapt to) Ryan is a perfect example of riding the wave of popularity while also being genuine to himself and enjoying the things he created. He isnt the only one, and there are hundreds of examples, but for over two years Ryan was the golden standard for youtube creators, and he still IS. I love Ryan, legitimately amazing, and him and his crew deserve all the praise they get.

Ryan Higa is the man, I grew up on Oahu and had a lot of friends who were into Judo and competed regularly. I remember one of them going to the big island and they ended up competing against Ryan. I never got to meet him personally, but have only ever heard great things. He hasn't lived in Hawaii for years, but still sounds like he left yesterday lol
