Keep faith, fellow PC gamer. I have been waiting to upgrade for years now and the prices have been high going to crazy and now insane for the last 5 years. The last good time to buy was in 2019 after the crypto crash. The next good time will be sometime in 2023-2024. Yeah, it sucks to build a PC with a reasonable budget.

By reasonable budget, I mean something like my 2013 PC which has a midrange GPU and quad core CPU (good for the time). I built that for less than a grand (not including monitor or OS but DID include mouse and keyboard).

@@pspublic13 thank you for the encouragement, but i live in Brazil and everything dollar-wise is multiplied by 4x lol. I bought my PC (intel i5 9400, gtx 1660, 8gb ram) in february 2020, just before the pandemic, and still paid something that would be like 500 usd (for comparison, minium wage would be about 200 usd converted). An build with RTX 3090 is a very VERY distant dream, but still a dream nonetheless.

My previous PC build was in 2013, decided to upgrade in 2020. I hadn't followed PC tech past 2013 that much. My surprise when I saw the m.2 SSDs. Fantastic using the PCIe throughput for HD R/W. (10:28 made me think of this)

To stay grounded I usually put the power supply in early on and plug it in to the wall. That way I can take advantage of the ground in the power cable and you can use the case to ground yourself.

That works yeah but it's not necessary at all. The case by itself is enough to ground you. You will never build up enough static to damage a part as long as you touch the case first. It spreads the static throughout the entire case so no one part gets shocked directly.

Had a dream the other day that I was walking through Wal-Mart with a few friends and I happened to run into you! I remember walking up and telling you about how I was a big fan and you responded about how you couldn't really talk at the moment as you were recording for a video. I think I had asked for a picture before I left, although I don't think we ever took it. Just thought I'd share that, i don't tend to dream a lot and thought it was pretty funny you were there! Either way, love Toast and your videos, and have to say this one was good as always!

Kris I know you probably will never actually see this but recently my cpu water cooling pump has stopped working, and I don’t know much about pc’s and I was hoping to just change it from water cooling back to just regular cooling with just a cpu fan. If there is anyway you can get intact with me that would be amazing. And keep doing all the amazing work you do you’re really inspirationable

Ehh sort of. IT doesn't always mean hardware-related. Toast used to do to some software development. That doesn't require basically any pc building experience at all. Most people when I was getting my degree used MacBooks. Pretty sure they had no experience in building a PC but that doesn't mean they can't work in software.
