I like seeing how excited you are about it. It's something else entirely than just buying a pedal and plugging it in.

Building an amp is awesome! I built a 5E3 Tweed Deluxe, and it sounds fantastic! It is really easy to go deep down the rabbit hole of which transformers, resistors, capacitors, etc. sound the “best”. I wish I had started with the simpler Tweed Champ and just stuck with the kit for my first build. It would have given me a lot more confidence wiring the fancy transformer for the Deluxe!

Thank you for inspiring me to order this kit. It was a fantastic idea to share this project with my son who is now interested in assembling another. We just finished it last evening and we could not stop smiling when the groovy swirling sounds came on! Thanks for your amazing and entertaining videos! I’m a fan.

I’ve built several pedals, with varying success, and I’m of two minds here for recommendations for new builders. Starting with some cheap Chinese pedal builds can be low-risk with regards to money, since you’re just learning and if you screw up it’s not a big financial hit. However, these cheap builds often have just one photocopied schematic and no instructions, which can be challenging. Nicer pedal builds are more expensive, but usually have better instructions and better parts. I’d recommend going with a reputable company, like StewMac.

So I LOVE this series of videos. Tbh I have yet to deep dive into the channel but these build videos are captivating and inspiring. I’m not at all a guitar player, however my 10yo son is. He and I both love to tinker and I have noticed he loves playing around with pedals. I think I’m gonna pick up a few of these pedals as projects this summer, I’m 100% sure combining the tinkering and the nifty new pedal sounds will be a great learning experience and he’ll always have his new pedal as a trophy.

Stewmac are great, built two 5E3s Tweed Deluxe amps, a Ghostdrive pedal , EC Expander and Tape Op delay pedal. all sound absolutely killer and were fun to build, Want to do a JTM 45 Clone next and the Lightcycle pedal for sure.

YEAAAAAAAAAHHH, diy time! post watching edit: I find it very funny that all pedal kits say to break of the tab on potentiometers. I drill a extra hole for it. The tab is great to hold the pots down when you tighten the nut. And if the pot gets loose, It doesn't start to spin and ripping of wires! You could consider adding a layer of clear coat over the decal stickers to make the pedal a bit more rugged. The pedal sounds great!

I have made 3 pedals now, all from Fuzz dog pedals. The instructions are very clear if a bit sparse. I got the upgraded kits and they went together well and all worked first time. I am now just buying the circuit boards and sourcing all components myself and drilling the case etc. I really enjoy building pedals and making guitars. Good advice about laying out the components first makes things much easier. (I Would buy more from them but as i am currently in Indonesia the shipping and import tax make it prohibitively expensive)

Built a few pedals with varying success. Going to get the Tremelo pedal. Just a guess based on this video, but I reckon that booklet is worth at least half the price. I've built the pedals so far with a bad black and white 1982 looking xerox and pics of a finished circuit board. Not really good. Or one had nothing. Can't wait. Thanks for this video. Been watching a few of yours now and subscribed.

if you are going to paint, let it cure in a warm space at least 75f for 24 hours, 85f would be better to help it cure and off gas before touching it. i may be off a little with the temps, but warm to you is good for paint curing.

To anyone that’s built this pedal, if you had it to do over, would you install the resistors later rather than first? Reason being that it seems it would be easier to work those in after the sockets and caps. Yes/no?

Red wires all around? Kinda bad design. If you're going to build pedals invest in a cheap wire solution if only to make troubleshooting things like positive, negative, and so forth easier should you need to.
